According to historians, this is when the formal establishment occurred and was sponsored by the United Methodist Church. However, this wasn’t the end of moves or name changes. In 1901, the #college relocated once again, this time to #palmharbor which was named Sutherland then and in 1906 changed their name to Southern College. In the 1920’s fires caused a temporary relocation, this time to #clearwaterbeach Beach and finally made #lakeland its final home in 1922 with a final change in their current name in 1935 chosen by the board of trustees. #fsc holds the title as the oldest #4year #privatecollege in #florida and is also home of the world's largest, single-site collection of #franklloydwright architecture.
