Oh hi, if it isn't too much trouble would you please gif the part of that katie video where she says she's been doing needlepoint of the cities she's worked and then saying "I have a problem" because she bought so many. thank you!
just posted it!
Lol, myiy!mon-el is so lovable like, i honestly love his sort of sibling relationship with lena, glad to know that was your evil plan all along
Hahaha yeah, I knew I had to redeem him or completely write him off and it was just easier and more fun to make him a likeable asshole that thinks he’s lena’s bodyguard.
have you ever noticed (i'm sure you have becausee) how Shaw's voice in Relevance, the scene in the hotel changes? like it gets a little bit deeper? Idk, it kinda sounds like Sarah has the flu or something, but oh man, it always shocks me how good her voice sounds xD
Omg I can honestly say I didn't notice this time, I'm sure it was just me not paying attention lmfao but I'm gonna rewatch to hear it. I believe you though, Sarah changes Shaw's voice so much throughout certain eps I can't keep up lol; of course the main voice change I noticed was in 6741. The vulnerability kills me dead every time.
"#i love lena so much #I wish she was on a better show" what a mooooood just today I was thinking that. I can't even stomach anything related to the current events. And those ugly ass outfits wtf.
I know! I had such high hopes for season 5 and where the story could go after the cliffhanger and the amazing main cast they had this time and now this season is almost over and it just keeps getting worse.
And I really do love the character of Lena outside of Katie, she’s my favourite character of all time and this show, these writers, the cw, whatever will never do her justice. She’s such an amazing character with so much potential and they lucked out and got Katie to play her! And yet… her scenes are becoming unwatchable and I never though that could happen.
Thankfully this fandom is really creative an amazing and there’s really great fic, and art, and headcanons and meta posts and even memes that do more justice to her character than the show will ever do. But I’m still sad they have all this material, this character, this actress and many more great actors and characters to work with and they’re wasting it :(
God, do I love reading/watching katie interviews, like she puts so much thought in her characters and the words she uses. I guess she genuinely likes the show and supports (some) of the writing choices but she also is smart and charming enough to know when they pull so much crap to say it with subtlety, especially with this show. [Also the "And maybe you don’t want to see another person be horrible to Lena, but that might just be me projecting." WHAT A MOOD!]
also she saying that it was Lilian who told Lex about supergirl identity “because he’s not smarter than Lena is” Lmao, I love her. (sorry to rant on you, but we need to appreciate the Katie content when it’s given)
Hey! No apologizing! Ranting and appreciating Katie is one of my favorite things! You will see by the lenght of this answer…
To be honest, I’m still living for those interviews! I’ve been waiting SO long for someone to ask her about Lena’s arc this season and those answers are one of the main reasons! I love that you can tell those are not generic answers, she really thinks about it and tell us how she really feels.
I just love every time she gets to talk about her characters. She’s always put so much thought into every character she plays, no matter how little. She knew Morgana better than anyone back then, and the same happened with Lucy, and Sarah and Elizabeth and pretty much with every small character too and I think that’s part of what makes them all so great and so real.
And like you said, she’s also super honest and subtle but direct when she’s answering, she just makes it funny! Like when she basically called them out for Lena’s outfits in the lab? Or when they mentioned the weird pro-gun storyline she had. And she did it again this time with having every single Lena project turning into the main bad thing of the season and Supergirl’s and Lena’s petty feud.
I’m still laughing about her stopping mid-answer to tell them how much she’s enjoying being in her pajamas and talking about saving the world, haha. That’s such a Katie think to say. And her comments about Lena being smarter than Lex (which are true) and her becoming a “Katie puddle” if she has to film with Brenda and Jon had me laughing a lot too. The comment about people being horrible to Lena cracked me up, I feel her but at the same time I’m not that mad about it because that means more screen time and I do love my angst… But my poor girl needs a break too, I agree.
But yeah, Katie is just so charming and endearing. I wish we had like, audio commentaries for every single Supergirl episode with her. Or interviews more often! All kinds of interviews, but video interviews are great because I love her voice and her facial expressions and all the hand movement. Pretty much everything about her, let’s be real. Can’t wait for Comic Con this year.
flowellch replied to your post “God, do I love reading/watching katie interviews, like she puts so...”
Her interviews in the Merlin days are some of my favorites, because given that the writing in the show, IMO, was more consistent and coherent she had a even better understanding of the character. She's also so funny in a self deprecating way, like chill, you're amazing, and you're doing great (in regards the acting). Anyway, i can't wait for this comic con either, specially if nicole and azie will be there too.
I loved the Merlin interviews too, especially hearing her “side of the story” when Morgana went “evil” because while most people were calling her the villain and all that, she was always defending her and reasoning her motives, so we could also see things from her point of view since the show was basically from Merlin’s.
That being said, and this is huge unpopular opinion I think, I love Lena a lot more than I love Morgana, especially the potential the character has and would have in better hands, so getting to hear what Katie thinks about her and how she goes about playing her is everything to me.
I think Katie understands Lena way better than any other person and she actually mentioned in the interview that she’s been part of the process of creating the character and I have no doubts about that because I’m sure her input and the way she plays her have been of great importance to make Lena who she is. No wonder a character originally intended to only be in three episodes is now pivotal in that show.
And yeah, I love how she always uses self-deprecating humor and at the same time praises as much people as possible! She was so sweet talking about Jon, Brenda and Andrea. Though I’m sure she wasn’t joking when she said she was kinda anxious about her scenes with Lex but she was so great at the end so I hope those nerves go away because we’re getting that Luthor family scene and I. can’t. wait.
Oh, Azie and Nicole are regulars so they better be there! We will get so much about Lena, especially since it seems like the finale will be Luthor heavy and I can see that reveal coming so... that will be interesting. And then I’m sure “Nikazie” will provide great bts stuff! So I’m super excited! And I’m excited about the rest of the season of Supergirl, as I was with the last two episodes we got, and that hadn’t happened since a long time ago so I hope everything goes well!
