Hyacinth Lane: It’s situational, honestly? Should you help Hyacinth in a time of distress, they’ll likely latch onto you and trust you with their life, since they’ve been helped once. However, don’t expect to enter a casual conversation with them a few times, and then gain their trust. Should they trust you over time on their own, it’s usually after you’ve confirmed your reliability.
Laurel Montague: It appears to be easy, as Laurel is fairly friendly and social with most people. He is, however, very unlikely to trust anyone outside La Famille fully.
Hibiscus Lockwood: Biscuit is a gentle soul who is almost too easy to get trusting you. She, however, believes her experiences make her a decent judge of character and regardless, Biscuit believes everyone deserves a chance to be trusted.Ginger Ale: If you’re younger than 20, chances are Ginger will trust you on sight. Otherwise, it’s a matter of watching and waiting until his trust is just gained naturally.Saffron Talbot: Trust? Too many people have broken their trust for her to even bother caring to let people in. Biscuit and Primrose are the only two people that get even a sliver of Saffron’s trust- (that’s an under-exaggeration- Saf trusts Biscuit with her life, and relies heavily on Prim)Peony Emiri: Peony likes to think it’s fairly easy to gain her trust? She’s very much like a puppy; you treat her and her loved ones well, and she’s likely to trust you like a close friend.
5. How easy is it to earn their mistrust?
Hyacinth Lane: Embarrassingly easy. Mistreat them or their family in any way, shape, or form, and Hyacinth is likely to never trust you again. Laurel Montague: Laurel is often cautious around anyone that isn’t their family, but to truly gain their mistrust you have to prove to be abusive or toxic in any way. Laurel does not and will not stand for that sort of behavior under any circumstances. Hibiscus Lockwood: It’s really not hard at all. However, mistreat her Saffron or Cœur, and any of the other Fleurs, Biscuit is very unlikely to trust you again.Ginger Ale: Similar to gaining his trust, Ginger is less likely to trust adults. Otherwise, he’s merely cautious until he’s been given a reason someone can’t be trusted.Saffron Talbot: Chances are, Saffron is beyond caution and already mistrusting of others outside her family, and especially outside of Prim or Biscuit. Peony Emiri: It’s incredibly difficult to gain Peony’s mistrust. Though, once it is gained, unless you have irreversibly harmed her family, Peony may, over a long period of time, come to trust you again.
15. How do they speak? Is what they say usually thought of on the spot, or do they rehearse it in their mind first?
Hyacinth Lane: There seems to always be a hint of disinterest in Hyacinth’s very snappy words. While they respond quickly to things, they tend to think their words over briefly before they say them.Laurel Montague: Laurel likes to believe he’s quite eloquent, and often speaks with a rather thoughtful lilt in his voice, always taking a moment of physical stalling before speaking. Though, around friends or when he’s rather bewildered, Laurel tends to say whatever comes to mind.Hibiscus Lockwood: Biscuit doesn’t rehearse anything she says, and sometimes lets either important or unnecessary information slip in… inopportune moments because of this.Ginger Ale: What is a thought-out statement? Ginger is all about spontaneity and sincerity of words and intentions, and will always say whatever comes to mind, when it comes to mind. Saffron Talbot: Saf is a very salty, very monotonous person who says the first, often sassy, thing that comes to mind without regrets.Peony Emiri: Peony, while sweet, is rather blunt and doesn’t often consider her words unless forced into a situation where she’s conscious of the importance of her wording.
25. What are their thoughts on marriage?
Hyacinth Lane: Hyacinth doesn’t… entirely like titles nor permanent commitments. They’re content with Poppy at their side, and wouldn’t mind spending forever with her, with or without marital titles.Laurel Montague: In short, Laurel thinks the legal aspects of marriage is a waste of time. Though, he loves the idealistic concept of marriage and… one day, who knows?Hibiscus Lockwood: Biscuit thinks marriage is lovely, but it’s not for her. It’s just simply never been something Biscuit has wanted or looked toward.Ginger Ale: “AHHH <3″ are this thoughts on marriage, as he is happily married with just the cutest child in the whole wide world. Saffron Talbot: Admittedly, Saffron loves the idea of marriage very much and has often fantasized about one day being married. Though, at the moment, she’d be too embarrassed to admit this to anyone, especially Primrose. Peony Emiri: She thinks marriage is the happily ever after she has always dreamt of, and would love to one day marry Cinder.
29. Do they usually live up to their own ideals?
Hyacinth Lane: Nah, not even close. Though, Hyacinth doesn’t seem to get particularly hung up about this. They’d rather keep moving forward and getting things at least partially done, than try to reach unreachable ideals.Laurel Montague: Not in the slightest, though Laurel tries oh so very hard. He messes up a lot, though, and this fact often brings him a lot of frustration.Hibiscus Lockwood: Biscuit tries! She’s learned her limits over time, and has set her ideals and goals close to those limits to try and live up to them. So far, she’s pretty content with her progress and successes, and does her best to either move on from or retry the ideals she can’t live up to.Ginger Ale: Not all of them? The ideals and goals Ginger doesn’t reach often frustrates him a lot, and he’ll strive to do better every next time after that to make up for all the ideals he can’t live up to.Saffron Talbot: Nope- and Saffron sometimes gets angry over this. She, however, needs to desperately learn how to set more reasonable ideals for herself, so at least some of them can be attained.Peony Emiri: So far, Peony hasn’t set super unattainable ideals, and has sometimes even lived up to beyond what she expected with her ideals.
35. How do they treat the things their friends come to them excited about? Are they supportive?
Hyacinth Lane: They’re very awkward with showing and receiving any sort of emotions, though Hyacinth will often stop whatever they’re doing to, at the very least, listen. If they’re comfortable enough with the friend, they might even reach out to pap them, or continue to ask curious questions about whatever it is, if applicable. They’re most comfortable with Poppy, Snowdrop, Lion, Kiele, and Rue, and will likely put the most effort in showing interest to them.Laurel Montague: Laurel is likely to get excited too! His friends are excited!? Then he’s going to get excited about their excitement!! He does his best to be validating and warm and welcoming, and loves hearing about things that make his loved ones excited.Hibiscus Lockwood: Biscuit is somewhat easily distracted, and may come off as entirely disinterested or fidgety when someone else is talking; but look close enough, and Biscuit will likely have the brightest smile as she listens. Though, she tends to fully listen to any of the kids, Cœur or Saffron.Ginger Ale: Similar to Laurel, Ginger often gets excited with the person speaking. He’s bouncy and often urges people onward, showing the utmost interest, sometimes even dropping what he’s doing or splitting up his attention enough to be obvious that he’s listening intently.Saffron Talbot: Saffron is… a little bit cold when on the receiving end of any excitement. They’re rather apathetic unless something directly interests them as well, and while she tries her best to be supportive, she tends to zone out a lot. Primrose so far has been the only person to truly gain Saffron’s genuine attention.Peony Emiri: Peony gets so excited!! She tends to feed off the energy of others, and will likely tent her hands while listening and watch the other person/people with bright, attentive eyes.
Uncommon Questions~ A, B, & H for Laurel Montague. ouo
[ask me questions here!]
A) Why are you excited about this character?
Laurel is my heart-of-gold, takes-no-shit sweetheart and I love him a lot. I’m really excited to explore his backstory, and how he grows from one point in his life to another!!
B) What inspired you to create them?
A dream. Literally. Well, more like two dreams that when combined, created a whole universe of characters based off flowers. For Laurel Montague, the mountain laurel flower was a large inspiration for his appearance and abilities.
H) What trait do you admire most?
Physical traits, I think I love Laurel’s love of crop tops and his uneven, secretly multicolored hair that he takes great pride in. Other traits, I think how he took all the shit handed to him throughout his life, and completely turned it around into parts of him he can be proud of. Granted, this is probably by the end of his character arc, but yaknow. details

The track lights had never been so strong before, but that night they seemed to burn up at him, prickling and cooking his skin. Looking away from the neon purples and pinks, Xander looked to his hand and closed his eyes.Inhaling slowly, he felt the calm aroma of his cigarette fill his lungs. For a moment, the scent of cherries filled his lungs, replaced soon after by the scent of an air so thickly polluted, he breathed out clouds. They left him in a chill as a metallic trill sliced through the air, and seemingly through his very being. Xander watched the sky as the train screeched in front of him, deafening him.
Taking a step forward, Xander felt the station’s weight drop onto his shoulder, and for a moment he can’t move. He can only hunch there, helpless. The cigarette dropped, his teeth clenched.
A sharpness pricked his tongue, and his head snapped up, fully awake. A steady metallic warmth filled his mouth, and he’s left standing there: Staring as his only escape rolls on by, and the blood is left pooling.
10. what’s a line of dialogue you’re particularly proud of?Heck I haven’t written much dialogue at all for this,,,, I can probably get back to you by the end of July if I don’t fall too far behind Camp Nano
hMMM I think the ones that are tied for the most cursing are Saffron and Cinder? Except Saf tends to add every bit of sarcasm they possibly can, and Cinder tends to deadpan it-
As for the least likely, that’s Snowdrop! She’s a bouncy cute smol who wouldn’t- (Hyacinth is looking at anyone who thinks she would disapprovingly)
