Looking and seeing, instead of - as I usually do - looking and passing ...

Once upon a time I was -

A flowering cherry tree

Felled when I was in my prime

Now take a look at me

They said that I was beautiful

But some might trip & fall

They said my roots were dangerous

Why place me here at all?

Tho I'll not blossom

I remain

A darksome beauty

Flowering Cherry-Blossom Because of the screwy weather and the timing of our vacation, we missed the peak bloom of our flowering cherry-blossom tree.
