Many years ago, I worked for @themorganlibrary, in their shop. It was here, that I was enchanted with #IndianMiniaturePainting. We sold several floral works in our shop. After work one day, my coworkers and I met Deepak Rattan at a street fair. He was the art dealer who sold the paintings to the museum. I got his card and bought two paintings of birds from him. I was in touch with him until about 12 years ago. He still has two paintings I really want to add to my collection. I found this one on #EBay, and had to have it. The description is as follows:The blackbuck antilope is native to the Indian Subcontinent that has been classified as near threatened as its range has decreased sharply during the 20th century. The native population is stable, with an estimated 50,000 individuals. The blackbuck is the only living species of the genus Antilope.
This image was painted by famous Jaipur wild life miniature artist, Mr. Narendra Katara and will a make fine addition to your decor so hurry and order today before it is gone.

As simple as!!
Found some extremely spicy Fiestaware at the thrift store. It hit 9000 CPM and was accelerating when I gave up. Normal background radiation is between 18 and 23 CPM.
Also, WE didn't find it. A couple of teen boys were walking past us and I overheard one say, "man I wish I had a geiger counter."
I stopped them, held up my geiger counter and said, "a geiger counter you say?"
They just about fell over. We ran to the table with the suspected radioactive dishes and sure enough, the geiger counter proved them right. Good eye for the radioactives, kid.
They ended up buying a few pieces and we notified the thrift store employees to put it away so nobody would accidentally buy the pretty red plates for daily use.
Meanwhile the grandmom is watching nervously, asking "is that really radiation? is it safe? how do I explain this to my daughter??"
