2020 has been a strange and terrible year. In my garden, however I have had many plants flower for the first time, some up to 15 years old. Many plants in my garden serve to rekindle fond memories of friends and loved ones, places, trips and events. This is a beautiful thing, to walk around the garden and be reminded of such happy memories. I do not yet know the name of this beautiful vine, flowering for the first time. It was given to me as seed by my very dear friend and second Mom, Marianne Beith. She brought the seed pod (Asclepiadaceae?) from Namibia many years ago. Marianne was fond of bringing me seeds from her remarkable trips. Of the many seeds that germinated only two plants remain. I moved this one last year to my last and best border in the garden where it has finally thrived and flowered. It is this aspect of my gardening adventure thats brings me joy and keeps me sane. #mediterraneangarden #mallorca #floweringvine #subtropicalplants #asclepias #asclepiadaceae #gardenmemories https://www.instagram.com/p/CDl4wo-jX3S/?igshid=ru41x51p8nu8
