Happy #inktober everyone! For day one of my #botanicaltober prompts we have #rhododendron. BTW a corrected version of the prompt list is available as the second image in this post. (All of these originals are for sale for $20 a piece. DM me if you are interested!) So have you guys ever heard of "mad honey?" Fun story time. I discovered this after eating some local honey from Dresden. I wanted to try local honey for my allergies, but I got something totally different instead! After just a spoon full of this bitter honey, I felt faint, nauseated, dizzy, and weak. I had no idea what was going on. After a little googling, I found out what was likely the cause. Accidental mad honey. Rhododendrons are actually toxic, but if you don't go around eating them they pose little danger to you. However, if bees feed on them, they produced honey packed full of these toxins. Funnily enough, this honey that was used even by the Persians to defeat Roman soldiers goes for a very high price these days.
