‘oh no’ dread began to fill her stomach as she heard those words, she has to stay on this train for three hours?! her family would NOT be happy - ‘oh shit! mum and dad!’ hana started to panic as she thought about her parent’s and brothers reactions for when she would walk in MUCH later then usual.
‘mum will checking every second if i’m ok and dad will be asking if anyone was with me, jun will be asking if i was with a boy which dad will jump on to…’ her head hurts just thinking about it. pulling out her phone she checked if she had any messages and suddenly REMEMBERED that she could just text jun that she would be home late!
she perked up as she went to write a text to her reliable brother, but frowned when the ‘no signal’ showed up.
‘great’ “stuck on this train for three hours with no signal and have an exam in the morning, tonight is not going well” she muttered, accepting that she would just have to sit here and HOPE that the train moves before the three hours are up.
turning to the male next to her she gave him an apologetic SMILE “sorry about that, i freaked out and haven’t thanked you for telling me about the train; are you in a hurry somewhere?” now that she was looking at him she got the feeling that she had seen him before; he’s DEFIANTLY not from her school but she has seen him somewhere - just where?
his brow rose in confusion as he watched her internally panic about the news, dramatically reach for her phone to send a text, before reluctantly accepting the situation. it was amusing enough that his mind got distracted from the scene playing out before him that he almost forgot about the delay. almost. at least until she spoke to him and pulled him out of his own thoughts. “oh-- no, you’re fine. i’m sure the salarymen up in the green cars are more upset about the delay than you are so i’d rather face you than them.”
pausing his game, he pulled the earbud out of his ear and listened to rest of the announcement being made. an apology for the inconvenience, and that they were doing all that they could to ensure the train would continue back to tokyo.
“ah-- so... which class is your exam for tomorrow?” he HOPED she didn’t find the question too creepy. in his defense, she did have an entire mini monologue right beside him. and if he could, he would have loved to retreat back into his game and earbuds. maybe attempt to live tweet the encounter IF the had service. but his phone was also at 20%. and that barely enough to last being stuck for three hours, let alone survive him gaming. “and are you prepared for it?”
