There will be a committee meeting at 1:30 Tuesday (Senate Office Building 401) to allow fracking companies to keep Trade Secrets from the public on the contents of the fracked materials and the millions of gallons of contaminated water that are used during the process. This is a critical meeting at a very critical time in the legislative process. The pro fracking bills have passed 2 of 3 committees in the House and on Tuesday will come before the Senate in it’s second of 3 committees before it goes to the floor of both houses. The bills to ban fracking have not been put on the agenda in either the House or Senate. Attending the meeting or Making these phone calls is the most important things you can do this session to protect our fragile aquifers and environment.
Start the calls with “I am opposed to SB 1582.” Also please ask them to Agenda SB 166 to ban fracking. Then any other comment you would like to make about how you feel about fracking in Florida.
