I'm feeling blah today too. Maybe we'll both feel better if we imagine the butterflies in John's stomach on the day he and Sherlock say "I do." Sherlock having butterflies is a foregone conclusion, but I think we need to think about how Sherlock takes John's breath away and makes him weak in the knees too. Hope this helps! xx

This is beautiful.  I think sometimes we overlook John’s need to be soft.  

Have you also considered: How tenderly John is going to cradle Sherlock’s face for their first kiss as husbands?  And have you also imagined how they will both pull back from that tender moment with wet eyes, and small self-conscious laughs as they turn to face the small family they have built around them?

For your consideration: John coming home after a terrible day at work, and he drops everything on the floor as he crosses the threshold and goes right to where Sherlock is sitting on the sofa. He collapses onto Sherlock without saying a word, and Sherlock doesn't even ask a single question, he just puts his arms around John and holds him and lets him take every comfort he needs. And when John finally lifts his head, Sherlock smiles at him as they share small, wordless kisses.

Beautiful.  I love when we allow them to care for one another.  

Have you also considered: Sherlock enjoying the solid weight of John Watson stretched out on top of him?  Taking as much comfort from John as John is taking from him.  Please also consider the warms arms that embrace John tightening slightly when John lifts his head, so that he knows that he is loved, and that he is not a burden, and that Sherlock wants him to stay.

Have you considered the way Sherlock will lie there in the mornings (when he does sleep), tracing his fingers gently over John's face, his eyes wide with wonder? Have you considered the sleepy way John will smile at him when he wakes, the soft way he'll kiss all of his fingers, planting a final kiss on the heavy platinum band on Sherlock's left hand? Have you considered the tender way in which they'll come together, embracing in the pale morning light, perfectly content, perfectly happy?

Have you also considered: How morning cuddles, and lazy kisses, and gentle touches can lead to one or the other getting aroused?  And how sometimes it will playfully escalate to more, more, more, yes, there. 

But other times they just enjoy feeling alive, and together, and in love, and the hardness gives way to softness, and as they drift in and out of waking, they are content to just be.
