Michael's is a chain in Canada too, they usually have a pretty decent selection of assorted stimmy stuff (glow sticks, keychains, plushies etc.) near the checkouts for cheap. They also usually have coupons on their website for at least 40% off one regular priced item, for the more expensive stimmy stuff (I'm kind of a poor judge, most craft supplies are super stimmy for me) and they accept coupons on your smartphone
I didn’t realise they were also Canadian, anon!
I really appreciate when people do this, because I absolutely do not know what stores encompass more of North America than just the US. I am so grateful for folks who take the time to correct my assumptions and provide more information.
And yes, craft supplies are super stimmy! I mean, I find sewing and beading and making to be extremely stimmy, and I stimmed only by crafting (at any time it was appropriate to have a sewing project in my hands) before hand pain and diagnosis. Anything that involves textures and repetitive movements and colours, like art and crafts tend to do, is stimmy. I’m pretty sure that’s why so many stimmers end up exploring DIY stims or even opening their own stores to sell handmade toys, because the making is as stimmy as the using.
(Last night I made more of my perler bead braclets/loops, three of them in the exact same colour patterns, just because I liked watching the colours go together in order. If that’s not stimmy crafting, I don’t know what is.)
Here’s the Canadian website, although I’ll note that I couldn’t find any spinner listings, squishies or fabulous stimmy keychains, so it might be another case of “more stuff offline”, which is usual for craft stores here in Australia.
Thank you so much, anon, for letting us know!
