"Can't, or won't?" She questioned stubbornly, turning on her other side so she couldn't see him. "I don't think you love me anymore."
He blew an amused huff out of his nose before rounding their shared bed to look at her.
"If I didn't love you then I wouldn't put up with how pouty you get when you're sick." He cooed at her. "If I didn't love you then I wouldn't keep Markl from interrupting your naps, or make sure Calcifer saves breakfast for you when you can't walk down the stairs to get it yourself."
He lovingly stroked her hair, brushing it away from her sweaty forehead before planting a kiss on it, making her face pucker.
"Don't do that, you're gonna get sick." She fussed, trying to gently push him away from the bed and yet failing miserably.
"Never stopped me before." He hummed, this time leaving one on her cheek.
"Howl, stop. I mean it."
Disregarding her concern entirely he continued to kiss her cheeks, slowly drawing giggles from her.
"There she is," he smiled, "there's my sweet little wife."
She scrunched her face back up, pretending to be upset again. "You're unbelievable. You don't get to complain about it when you get sick too, you know I tried to warn you."
He grinned at her lovingly, this time kissing her on her lips.
"How could I ever complain about being sick when my pretty wife is the best nurse ever?"
Prompt: None. Inspired by this scene in Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

A/N: I couldn’t resist the forehead touch (again). It’s so soft, just like Newt Scamander.
You casted a drying spell as you discarded the broken brolly aside; London’s weather was as rainy and gloomy as ever. A pile of papers and envelopes on the floor caught your attention. Casting a quick Reparo at the brolly, you picked up the mails. The flat was dark and quiet.
“Newt, I’m home!” You called out.
Our home, you smiled at the thought. You have been living together for two weeks now, and it still felt like a dream. There were some adjustments to be made, small arguments over who stole the blanket at night, but you wouldn’t trade anything in the world for this domesticity that you two shared.
You were sorting through the mail– Muggles, while blessed for their invention of electricity and the sewage system, had managed to send all sorts of bills to be paid– when you heard a muffled clang toward the bedroom’s direction.
Probably inside his suitcase, you thought, since the bedroom remained dark. You put the sorted mail on the mantelpiece and discarded the rest with a flick of your wand, then quickly made your way to the source of the noise.
The suitcase sat open on the bed. As you approached, you caught sight of a picture of Newt and you by the bedside table, illuminated by the faint glow of streetlight. You drew the drapes and whispered Lumos, electricity bills be damned. Your face broke into a big smile as you picked up the picture. Newt kept many photographs around the flat: of you, of the two of you together, portraits and sketches of his and your beloved creatures. Your favorite of the two of you had ended by his side of the bed. Your finger traced his face as he softly gazed up at you. Even in a photograph, you could still see his freckles, dotting like stars.
“Merlin’s beard!” The shout from inside the suitcase startled you. Putting the picture down, you hurriedly took the steps descending down to the wonderland that is Newt’s suitcase.
“Newt! Is everything alright?” You found him hunched over by his desk, cradling his arm close to his person, his great blue coat laid abandoned nearby.
“Y/N! You’re back!” Newt’s bright, sunny smile immediately abated your worries. You couldn’t help but grin back at him. But that didn’t last long.
“Stars! What happened?!” You gasped– there, where his skin was visible, were teeth marks in shades of reds. Newt’s white shirt was soaked with sweat. You started to examine him profusely. Those looked like–
“Murtlap’s bites?” You ran your fingers gingerly over a mark by Newt’s collarbone. His shirt was unbuttoned down the first three, leaving his chest half exposed. You felt Newt’s breath hitched as your fingers brushed against the angry red of his skin.
“Yes. I have been… observing different reactions one might get when bitten by a murtlap. So far, it has been quite harmless. The only thing was that… flmns…”
“I’m sorry, I didn’t quite catch that?” You looked up at him as he averted his gaze, cheeks pink. You didn’t realize your face was so close to him. You could see his constellations of freckles so clearly from here.
“The only serious reaction was… flame out of the anus.” He mumbled the last bit. Your lips thinned as you tried to hide a fond smile at your magizoologist. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was published right before you moved in together. Only Newt Scamander would work on a revision so soon after the book’s premier. His compassion and dedication would never cease to amaze you. He did it not for recognition nor fame, but purely out of his compassion and dedication to the magical creatures.
“Let’s treat these bites, then you can go and update your manuscript, yes?” You brushed the sweaty hair out of his face and pressed a kiss on his freckles, his cheeks warm under your lips. You started to pull away, only to find his lips on yours. You leaned into the kiss as one of Newt’s hands caressed your face, the other a comforting warmth at your waist.
You reluctantly pulled apart and rested your forehead against his. “Exactly how much flame out of the anus are we talking about?” You said cheekily.
Newt’s face is a whole other shade of red that you had never seen before. “I would say it depends on the diet one consumes.”
Your laughter rang through the space. If this was how it’s like with Newt, you couldn’t wait to spend the rest of your life with him. But that would be for another day. While the future was exciting and full of possibilities, you were content and happy at this moment in time, surrounded by the fantastic beasts and the love of your life.

A/N: Was just in the mood for some very soft Steve. Gif not mine, credit to the creator.
Not beta read, all mistakes are my own.

“You didn’t have to wait up for me,” Steve whispered, bending down to drop a kiss to your forehead, the softness of his voice showed his sincerity.
“I know Stevie, but I wanted to see if you were ok,” you said taking his hand and pulling him down onto the sofa.
He laid down, his head resting on your lap. You could see the exhaustion on his features and feel the emotions rolling off him in waves.
“You don’t have to talk about it,” you say softly as you thread your fingers through his hair, feeling him physically relax and sink into you.
Steve let out a gentle sigh as your nails lightly scratched his head. He needed this, you needed this. It was a way for you to see if he was really ok.
“I guess you saw what happened on the news,” he hummed.
“Little bits of it, looked like a shit storm, but not one that could have been avoided,” you replied, moving your free hand to rub small circles on his chest.
“Everything that could have gone wrong did. Innocent people died today on my watch.” Steve closed his eyes in an unsuccessful attempt to hide his pain from you.
None of this was his fault but you knew, even before Steve had got home, that he would pin all the blame on himself. It was just the way he was.
“Stevie,” you kept your voice soft, “look at me.”
He opened his eyes, swirling storms of blue greeted you, showing you every ounce of guilt and self-loathing he was feeling.
“Did you do everything you could to save those people?” You asked, already knowing what the answer was going to be.
He nodded in your lap, eyes never leaving yours. “Yes,” he replied quietly.
You cupped his cheek, thumb caressing his stubbly jaw line. “Then you can’t punish yourself for this. You were trying to save lives and you did. 100′s of people could have died today, but they didn’t because of you. You made a difference. You’re a good man Steve, the best I know. I love you.”
Leaning down you pressed your lips to his, trying to convey all your feelings through that kiss. As you pulled away Steve’s lips followed yours, seeking out the comfort only you could provide him.
“Thank you,” he murmured, as he got comfortable on your lap again allowing you to resume playing with his hair.
“Do you want to go to bed?” Pausing your movements for a second.
“Can we stay like this for five more minutes?” He looked up at you and you felt your heart melt at how vulnerable he was in this minute.
“Sure,” you smiled as his eyes closed and let out a sigh of contentment as your fingers weaved through his soft, blonde locks once again.
“I love you,” he breathed, taking your hand and pulling it to his mouth so he could kiss your knuckles.

Knock knock
"Who could that be?" Y/n muttered, setting aside the bread dough she'd been kneading and wiping her flour covered hands on her apron. She started making her way through her cottage towards the front door, dodging the drying herbs hanging from the ceiling and speaking quietly to herself. "I'm sure the sign out there says closed."
You see, Y/n worked at an apothecary, or more accurately lived in an apothecary. She lived in a small little cottage toward the edge of town, her property surrounded by a fence covered in rosebushes. Behind her home was the garden in which she grew the herbs and other medicinal plants for her customers, often being occupied by her grouchy cat Snips.
Speaking of which, here he came now, the old black cat hobbling towards the front door on his three remaining legs to see what the commotion was about.
Knock Knock
Once they both had arrived at the door Y/n unlocked and opened it to reveal two children, a boy and girl who looked to be around ten. They both seemed nervous, the girl hiding behind the boy as he shifted on his feet looking rather skittish.
Snips poked his head around Y/n's legs and yowled at the sight of unfamiliar guests, making both the children jump and look at him frightened.
"Can I help you two?" Y/n smiled, gently pushing Snips back into the house and out of view with her foot.
"Uh, well-" the girl started before the boy cut her off.
"We've come to see the Wizard-" he paused, looking her up and down before continuing. "Uh Witch Howl. I'm assuming that's you?"
Y/n rolled her eyes and smiled softly, shaking her head with a chuckle. "I'm afraid I'm not."
Both the children looked dreadfully confused, tilting their heads at her.
"We were told to come down this street, they said it would be obvious were the wizard lived." The boy stated.
"We came here because we assumed the wizard would live in a scary looking cottage." The girl piped up.
"A scary looking cottage?" Y/n laughed again. "Well what's so scary about it?"
"You have gargoyles out front." The boy deadpanned.
"I saw bats in those trees." The girl pointed towards one of the trees in her front yard.
"Oh that's just Frank and his family." The woman said, waving it off.
"You have a black cat roaming around screaming." The boy stared pointedly behind her legs at Snips.
"Your shutters are painted black-" the girl started again.
"Alright, alright I get your point." Y/n stopped them. "Would you believe this is the eighth time this has happened this week?" She sighed, then smiled softly.
"The Wizard Howl lives across the street."
"You mean in that place covered in lights and flowers and pinwheels an-" the boy started listing.
"Yes that would be the one." Y/n laughed. "There you will find the great Wizard Howl. And please, tell him he needs to put up a sign. I run an apothecary, people already assume I'm a witch and this isn't really helping."
She waved to the children as the walked back down her front path and out the gate. Shutting and locking the door she turned and looked to Snips who was laying lazily in a windowsill with one eye half open.
"I tell you that man is bad for business. Well, I suppose incase those kids forget I'll tell him to put up a sign myself over supper. Well c'mon Snippy, I've got food to finish."
