Maybe she was crazy, or maybe things were finally starting to go back to normal. Randy had invited her over to hang out, just play some video games and catch up like civil people do, and she had accepted. Though Dewey believed it was a bad idea to go anywhere near him—and she certainly couldn’t blame him for holding that opinion—she knew that no harm would come to her from spending some time around her ex. They were supposed to still be friends despite everything that had happened, and even if they got into a heated argument the way they had last time they’d talked at the rave, Randy had never physically hurt her. The way he’d gone off on Dewey was really an unpredictable occurrence. Maybe unforgivable too, but at this point it was a matter of principle and pride for Tinsley to at least attempt to pack up all the shit of the past and put it behind them.
It was weird being at Randy’s place again; she hadn’t been there since they were still dating, and even then they’d always spent more time at her parents’ house than his. Still, she just tried to make herself comfortable as if everything was normal. “Player one, thank you,” she chirped, grabbing the primary controller out of his hands and sitting back on the couch.
