Here’s another track from my forthcoming new album, Hide or Seek. This one’s a semi-autobiographical tune about finding inspiration in the most unlikely of places. I hope it tickles your fancy.

“Flusher” by Joe Boettcher

Well I want to write a song about heartbreak, but I want it to be funny, and unconventional too. Still, I’m not really sure what I wanna say, so I think I’ll mull it over while I’m going number two.

Here I am in the bathroom, and still I’m stumped. Think I might as well flush it and be on my way. Hey, wait a second! The flusher seems kind of limp, and I think I just figured out what I am gonna say:

Well you left my heart as limp as a just-flushed toilet flusher, baby, I’ve never felt quite so listless. And even though I know that bowl will one day refill with liquid, I’m sure my heart won’t ever be quite as strong again.

Yeah that’s it!
