asfgfhj Thank you!! ❤
Taking people wanting to eat/put my art in their mouth as a high compliment, because i know that feeling lmao
I think i need to ask my bestie to make me a moodboard based on how some of you are describing my art. You guys make it sound so tasty lol
l love your character Pudding, in my head i keep thinking her name is Bea, because she looks like a bee, but also like pudding to me..
Haha ur right she does look like a bee, its probably because i draw her bunny ears to be like incredibly pointy. also, theres absolutely no reason for her to be a bunny girl other than i think “jasgsda bumny girl secy”
I know this might seem odd to just randomly ask you about this stuff but- -i ask if you could say something to encourage me or even someone else. to not give up and maybe go to class everyday...?
Absolutely!! I’m honored you’d ask. I wrote a LOT so I’m putting it under a read more. :3
Going to school is a great practice because it can be a really good platform to explore not only knowledge but who you are as a person as well!! for example, I learned I’m super lazy!!! hahaha. But for real, it’s not just a place to learn facts and memorize text if you don’t want it to be! there’s so much potential waiting for you at school. New people, new possible friends and connections you can make with peers and teachers, subjects that inspire you and things that make you think about you as a person and the world around you.
Grades aren’t everything. As long as you try your hardest it’s absolutely normal to fail as long as you don’t give up and make a habit of it! Use that disappointment as drive to do better next time, because I know you can do it and you know you can do it and you can’t win if you don’t try.
If you feel like you need a period of rest for a mental health day, it’s perfectly fine to do so in moderation but don’t let the temptation of slacking off trick you into not going to school. Depression can be a tricky bugger if you suffer from it like I do and it can be reeeeeally hard to get the motivation to get out of bed. Sometimes it helps to think about the reasons you LIKE school and convince yourself to go, or that you might feel better up and about or you might have missed something funny that happened if you had stayed in bed. Here’s a tip: Just swing your feet over the side of the bed. stand up. take a step. take a breath.
Do things at your own pace one step at a time and eventually you’ll get there. (although try not to be late!) This applies to projects and essays and big tasks too! Just take things one step at a time. The first sentence. The first paragraph. The second paragraph. Take breaks when writing! work for 10 minutes and then take a break for 5.
If you need help, don’t be afraid to ask for it. If you have problems speaking up in class, go before or after class to talk to your teacher 1-on-1 or talk to a classmate about it. Either the classmate with know what they’re talking about and help you, or be just as clueless as you are and make you feel better about not knowing it, hahaha. If you need to tell the teacher something, then do it. “I have anxiety issues so please don’t pick me.” or “I have another name and pronoun I go by, so please use those instead.” More often than not, teachers will be more than happy and understanding about it and you don’t have to be afraid to talk to them about things. Teachers are there (usually. some are just assholes) because they enjoy interacting with their students and want to make learning the subject they teach fun. Maybe you can suggest a new project that is more suited to your learning style! Teachers are always looking to find things that work best for the class and switching up their style definitely helps.
This has gotten pretty long and I could just keep talking about advice for waaaaay too long so I’ll end with this: School’s not for everyone. I’m not a school person myself, I can’t remember anything for shit. That’s okay! It’s not right brain VS left brain as much as they’d have you believe. There are SO many different ways of learning and so many ways to find and have fun with knowledge of many different types. Talk to people. Make friends. Find a reason you WANT to go to school every day. Make it fun for you. It really doesn’t HAVE to feel like prison and it won’t if you’re determined and you don’t take everything so SERIOUSLY. School is so serious sometimes, I never understood why. In university, you can wear slippers & PJs to school and chances are 1/3 of everyone else is too. Loosen up and do your best, try not to stress out about grades or being popular and have FUN there. You spend more time at school than you do at home so make it yours. Make it feel like a second home.
I hope this helps!!! I know it can be really hard if you’re depressed or introverted or have a stress disorder but there are different things you can do to still make it as comfortable as possible, even just small little things. Some things (like stress) you can’t control when it comes to grades but you can still make the learning fun? Use acronyms or sing songs or explain what you’ve learned to a stuffed animal at home. Just…little tiny smol things that will help your anxiety!
