My first all Black Crew, the First Officer just finished his IOE to certify his wings. Rob was my first Black Captain, and I met him in Black History Month.

Super interesting to be a flight attendant, on 9/11 . My first flight of the day I’m deadheading (riding as a passenger) from Bangor, Maine to Newark. Then, I have Greensboro turn later in the day. Sometimes people walk up to me and it makes me yelp a little bit, when I’m making coffee/drinks and my back is turnt. Makes me afraid of what if this person was to hurt me.

Yesterday I added into my announcements, if you need my help just say my name or press the bell button, I don’t like being touched by strangers. Kinda lost the crowd at that moment, but it makes me jump out of my skin . Use your words, not your hands. Because in this job I have to be prepared for someone to try to harm me and all of us on board and/or others. People can’t fathom that thin line of you want to know if I can call the gate at 35,000 ft in the air to hold your flight for you (if your cellphone can’t make calls wtf would mine?) and you’re trying to get in the cockpit.

All the gun violence and hatred in the world, especially here in the US just makes me … sometimes uneasy.

Retwisting . Studying . Chilling .

I got my lowest grade today. 83% . I knew I wasn’t focused, I just couldn’t get it together . But technically it’s only pass or fail, it’s not actually weighted. But it went 100, 93, 96, and blah this 83% . I have another test on Wednesday, so I’ll make my way back up .
