Prompt #8: Tepid
Characters: Idristan
“That’s not going to work here either, you know.”
The moon fae doesn’t even bother to look up from his book right away, even as another loud Thump! rings out as answer to his words. No, instead he exhales a heavy sigh, then flips another page in said book (even if the words have started to blur together with how much attention he’s actually paying to them).
“I magicked that one too--” Thump!
The book is closed, though instead of looking over towards the source of the noise, the Ishgardian instead rests it against his forehead as another, rather exasperated sigh leaves his lips.
Thump!
“Enough!” Finally he sets the book down and rises to his feet, only to walk the short distance and scoop up the flying gaelicat as it prepared to do another dive down towards the tepid waters of the pond. Said cat he turns around to face him as he shakes his head.
“You can’t reach them,” he says, carefully enunciating each word, as if that might get the point across to the furball in his arms. “Look.” He reaches down as if he himself were going to pick up one of the fishes that swam, seemingly unconcerned, in the water. Only his fingertips suddenly halt a few lim above the surface of the water.
“Now, why don’t you go play with the sprites or something?” he says, finally releasing Arnaud back into the air. Arnaud eyes him for a few moments--then promptly dives down towards the pond again. Thump!
Idristan exhales a long, loud groan, then goes to flop down onto the couch once more. This might be a long few bells.
