I love all the squirrel x crow AU’s, so here’s my designs for the family, all the kinds have the white paw that squirrelflight has and the only reason people believed that brambleclaw was the father was because of lionblaze and how big and stripey he was, still have no idea where he and jayfeather get their stripes from but we’re just gonna ignore that lol
Crowfeather and Squirrelflight AU:
Okay i’ve never posted anything about warrior cats au’s apart from fanart but this is one that i actually rlly liked the idea of and I just wanted to kind of post my version if it (i have seen a few but not loads)
So in this AU, crowpaw and squirrelpaw actually get along pretty well when on their journey. They’re both kind of arrogant and hot headed but they would bond over both being apprentices and both being expected to live up to a high standard, crowpaw being a chosen cat and squirrelpaw being the daughter of firestar. Crowpaw is still pretty close with feathertail but its totally platonic and when she dies she still decides to take her name in remembrance. Brambleclaw is still close to squirrelpaw I just though their relationship was a bit weird seeing as brambleclaw was a warrior when squirrelpaw was an apprentice but oh well he’s a pretty chill dude.
The rest of the journey etc goes as normal but instead of crowfeather getting together with leafpool he gets with squirrelflight as they both got closer over the journey and after they got to the new territories their relationship stayed kind of strong but as their duties became more important they drifted apart. Squirrelflight then has crowfeathers kits and brambleclaw, who knows who the father is says that he will happily cover for her and the whole clan just assumes hes the dad so its go’s over easy. Squirrelflight is then more involved with her kits and doesn't get the chance to tell crowfeather, nor does she think she should as she heard he had gotten with nightcloud.
Ashfur however doesn't buy it. He and squirrelflight became good friends after getting to the new territory and he knows squirrelflight and brambleclaw are not mates and after over hearing a conversation between the two about whether they should tell crowfeather or not ashfur becomes enraged.
Fire scene happens but instead of trapping the 3 he traps squirrelflight for having kits with crowfeather and still expected her to get with him. Lionblaze attacks ashfur while hollyleaf and jayfeather save her from the fire and ashfur runs off to the clan, hurt but alive. Squirrelflight tells the 3 about crowfeather and lionblaze being the big forgiving boi he is says he doesn't care who is father is he still loves his mum, jayfeather is a bit upset but after seeing squirrelflights memories of crowfeather and sees the love she had for him he accepts it. Hollyleaf takes longer however but after a few weeks of dodging squirrelflight, brambleclaw talks to her and she comes around, saying she loves her mother and nothing would change that.
Squirrelflight says not to tell firestar about ashfur because she still believes he would get over this but after a month of walking on glass ashfur spills their secret at the gathering. Squirrelflight and the others tell firestar what happened with the fire and ashfur is exiled after he admits to it and refuses to see that he was wrong.
Crowfeather is shunned by windclan, not exiled but they don’t trust him until nightcloud speaks up. She and crowfeather never got together formally as mates as every expected, she knew about squirrelflight and didn’t hold it against him but she wanted kits and crowfeather was happy to help her raise hers. Breezepelt didn't grow up to be an a**hole seeing as his parents didn’t fight and he didn't have too much of a connection with crowfeather so he wasn’t that affected by the news, hes still a brat but not in a murder way just a spoiled baby way. Nightcloud takes crowfeathers side, as well as breezepelt and a few others like heathertail and the clan slowly goes back to normal.
Squirrelflight and crowfeather meet up with the 3 so that they can formally meet and get to know their father. They don’t switch clans or anything they just like to meet on patrols and talk about whats happening in their clans and their lives, knowing they couldn't be a proper family but this was all they could have hoped for.
During the big battle with the dark forest, although breezepelt still joined just because he wanted to prove himself and be better for his clan, breezepelt fights side by side with hollyleaf and so she doesn’t die because thats my baby and brambleclaw picks her to be his deputy

Its long I know and not the best but I just rlly liked the general idea and I like the idea of breezepelt and hollyleaf sassing each other at gatherings and that they look very similar
Crowfeather and Squirreflight AU:
The pair totally bickered on the journey and bonded over their combined sass, crowpaw even joined in when squirrelpaw teased brambleclaw and bramble boi aged like 3 years after this because oh god there’s two of them now but deep down he was happy because crowpaw seemed way more relaxed and he could actually stand having a conversation with the apprentice :D I will forever keep squirrelflight as short as possible because I headcannon that firestar is pretty small but like sandstorm is an absolute unit and thats where lionblaze gets his size from whereas both jayfeather and hollyleaf are more lanky with big ears like their dad.
Flying squirrel AU
Decided to name my squirrelflight and crowfeather AU flying squirrel just to keep track of it and also hes named after a bird, shes a squirrel, I think it kinda fits lol? I’ll tag any relating posts with flying squirrel au/ flyingsquirrel au :D
Some doodles from the AU, squirrelpaw and crowpaw goofing during their journey, crowpaw took a stretch during it and squirrelpaw didnt get her growth spurt till after they returned to the clans and so he liked to tease her about it, hes a tall boi :D
Those first few nights being separated after returning the clans to the lake was rough for both of them and they were very aware of the cold empty nest beside them.
Nightcloud and crowfeather became close friends and acted as mates around the clan, both growing fond of each other but they never wanted to be involved romantically. Crowfeather was there to help raise nightclouds remaining kit breezekit and nightcloud became a bigger chonky girl after having him. I also like the idea of breezekit having pink eyes like his mum? idk yet
