Ezio, have you seen that useless brother of yours? Once again he dropped off the face of the earth and I want to know if he's dead or not.
Actually I do know where he is for once. He's away for the weekend and will not return for some time.
It looks like it is you and your hand for awhile, hm?

My Turn
Ezio rolled his eyes and checked his email on his phone. He skimmed the pages, stopping every now and then to read some paragraphs. He nodded and immediately started to go over how he would approach this.
The sooner the better.
He wasn't sure if they had gotten rid of the bodies, but either way the gang would realize they were two men short. And after the whole thing with Altair in the beginning, well Ezio was pretty sure Altair had a hit on his head.
He quickly equipped his self. The last to go on his person was his hidden blade. He strapped it to his arm, using his teeth to pull at the straps. When he felt ready, he sent another message to Malik. "I am leaving right now. I want to get this over with. I will review on the way. Just watch Altair."
He walked out into the living room, "I asked Malik to watch you." he paused and looked at Altair, "Will that be ok" he asked, hand on the door ready to go.
Taking Over
A few hours later, Ezio decided he should just let Malik know what he was going on. He was going to call him, but thought against it. He decided to text him instead.
"I don't know when you will get this, but when you can, please send me any information you have on Altair's target. I will be taking over for him. He is fine by the way. When I am gone, can you watch after him? You know how he is."
Ezio sent it and sighed, he should make sure he has all his gear in order. He wasn't sure when he would be ready to go, but it was better to be prepared than not.
Decisions, decisions
It was an usual day for Leonardo. Despite the whole fiasco with Altair, today was set to be a nice enough day. He had decided to go out for a while, maybe sketch a bit of the city scenarios.
He had moved to a small park not that far from his apartment, but not all that close. The artist came here often to sketch the trees and animals, but mostly the birds. Talking about birds...
He settled down on his usual bench, just below a maple tree. the pigeons were already starting to hover down to the ground, pretty much drilled into the routine. They knew him; they knew he always brought bread crums to attract the birds closer for him to draw.
The blonde tossed a few crums in front of him, and birds came, fearless of him. Calmly as not to startle them, he took out his notebook and pencil, and began working. It was quite entretaining, seeing the birds rushed everywhere for food, and he had to hurry himself to recreate their everchanging postures.
He could barely notice the passerby until he chanced to look up for a second and saw a familiar face passing through. "Malik..? Malik!" he spoke, hopefully loud enough for the other to hear, and waved a bit. It had been a small while since he last saw the man. His gestures started the birds, who rushed slightly away, but not for long.

hey guys, this is probably a silly thing, but i just wanted to clarify a few points on the AU, if you would bare with me… Ezio and Altair are part of the brotherhood, or are they just hitmen? like, does the assassin brotherhood even exist in the AU? Abstergo? if so, do they follow the creed and tenets and such? how do they affect the AU, if at all?

He waits for Malik's recorded message to finish playing before speaking.
"Uh, hello. I don't know if you know, but Altair has been...arrested. Now before you hang up I do not know why he is or how he got in this situation, but he asked that I inform you. He had said he forgot you number so that is why he didn't call you." he paused, "I am going to try and get him out, but...I am calling your first. I will let you know what happens or maybe have him tell you if all goes well. Good bye."
Ezio ends the call to Malik's answering machine and sighs.
