Flyleaf should change their name? WHY IN A MILLION YEARS WHYYY.

Let's talk about something controversial for a moment. I've seen a hundred angry, torch wielding folks crying out against Flyleaf not changing their name because Lacey chose to step down. We're going to talk about why that's pretty dumb.

Nobody owns the right to call their band Flyleaf except for the members of Flyleaf. Lacey, Pat, Sameer, James and Jared own that right. Lacey walked away, thus leaving the name in the hands of the remaining 4 members. They own it. They will continue to use it. There is not one reason why these guys should be forced to start over from square one with a new identity, and build their name again. Especially when they're playing the same songs and music.

It should also be noted that the guys wrote not only the music, but the lyrics for a lot of your favorite songs and singles. They've done more than your average guitarists, bassists and drummers as far as songwriting for this group.

AC/DC, Journey, Van Halen, Black Sabbath, Nightwish, Alice in Chains, and tons of other bands have gone through changes in "iconic" vocalist personnel, and have gone on to create amazing music with new singers. It happens. No really, it does.

Lacey has given her blessing to the band continuing with Kristen. She is down with it, and excited for them. Everyone involved is happy with how things are. This whole thing is bananas and should be a non-issue at this point. If they kicked Lacey out and there was bad blood, maybe some questioning would be warranted. But this is as seamless and as drama-free as it gets, ladies and gentlemen.
