FOR THE LOVE OF CHRIST, WATCH IT

It's amazing. The fandom is amazing. It's all amazing.

Speaking as someone who first got into Sherlock Holmes though my high school Literature of Mystery and Horror class, I can confidently say it's mindblowingly awesome. I tracked the progress of this show since it was announced that it was going to be made. Months before it ever aired. At first, I was certain I would hate it--I'm a Holmesian purist (read as: crusty and cantankerous about adaptations of the Canon) so the second I heard the words "modern adaptation" I was immediately put-off. I was certain I was going to hate it, but had to give it a chance anyway.

I'm so glad I did. The second I finished watching the first episode, I wanted to go punch past!me in the face. It was beautiful. Gatiss and Moffat are both longtime Holmes fans and it shows. The series is done in such a way that it fully captures the spirit of the Canon in as respectful a manner as possible, while taking it and making it something its own. 

And the cast? Girl, don't even get me started. IT'S A CAST OF LIFE RUINERS. How the fuck they're all so immensely talented and fabulous and so good looking it hurts is beyond me. The characters are so easy to fall in love with and the way they interact with one another is beyond fantastic.

So please, do yourself a favor and watch it.

I can guarantee you won't regret it. Yeah, I'm a bit of Sherlock Hipster, with my "I was with it before it even aired" routine, but I really am proud of how much attention this amazing show has--rightfully--received. I never thought that it would becomes as big as it has.
