Disney Planes X Battleship AU.
Imagine them dragging the USS Missouri out of retirement with her rag tag group of old Pittie deckhands to fight the invaders. I would imagine they would all be tough as nails and super down to business. “Alien invaders? Well, same shit different day.” No other questions asked just get right down to it. Bad ass old war women who could swear anyone under the table is my headcannon for her.
Unfortunately that means, just like in the show, two Wrenches end up biting that bullet and crashing into the shield.
The Wrenches and pacific fleet are working with the Japanese in this AU also. Three battleships get caught behind the shield just like in the movie. Though I might also throw Dwight in there as well. In the end all three battleships go down and Dwight is forced to watch and then take all the heat from the remaining alien craft, which he does because he’s just that good. Dwight takes down the shield which allows Missouri in to fight the final ship. (I just want to see Dwight go feral and absolutely wreck house). Trauma, trauma for everyone.
The three alien ships that jump around in the movie will be referred to as grasshoppers.
The large shield ship is either going to be named from a beetle or queen bee given its leadership over the small vessels.
The little red drones that rip shit up in the movie will be referred to as spinners. The ammunition will be called pegs of course.
I think I would end the AU differently by having more of the alien ships land elsewhere in the oceans and so it’s hinted that now Dwight and Missouri have to co-lead the fleets against them. Also since the aliens in the movie are photosensitive it would be cool for all the ships to paint themselves in bright, reflective paint to scatter light around. Dwight would literally look like a small sun just came to life in the ocean.
Read some fics and starting to wonder how does Dwight D. Flysenhower talked to the crews on board
Self-driving aircraft carrier is quite an entertaining idea, for all the things Flysenhower needs or don't need to do
And the aircraft carrier has a freaking big MOUTH
Can't stop imagining Flysenhower talking to others when he's not driving, cuz he'll definitely drink a lot of sea water if he talks with his mouth during his drive
So I'm making this up: Dwight D. Flysenhower almost talk to every Jolly Wrenches through radio, but he actually can HUM and make his wall vibrates and TALK to those who need extra checking (maybe someone on-board that are injured or just double checking with the crews during any action) in this weird way.
Only few had ever heard the voice of Flysenhower.
Skipper could be one of them, but I'm not really sure whether this Dwight D. Flysenhower serving the USN in 2013 is the same boat Skipper work with during WWII
Maybe in the Cars Universe, they somehow put big craft like an aircraft carrier's personality into some new frames and… well, this might be a bit dark sided.
First time seeing Bravo and Echo, both are quite good fighter jets, I thought of an idea that they were born to serve their country.
That these military frames told you your destiny.
Can never imagine that. I mean, yeah, born to be a F-18 somehow means you could fly with high speed and do all kinds of jet-ish stuff while you learn them one by one.
But above all these, if they really are born to be soilders, they probably know that the only ending for them is either died in a battle or stay in a boneyard.
Which makes the fact that "Dusty wins the Wings Around the Globe Rally" means so much more than just Dusty himself making his dream come true.
This means the possibility, for some that might never do anything else than serving (airliners, military crafts, engineering vehicles, public transportation, etc.), to explore themselves more.
Maybe this is why Bravo and Echo seem too friendly once they get to learn more about Dusty.
Looks like I need to remember more forgotten fandoms. So this time it's Disney Planes.
I love ships as much as trains and planes, so... Yeah, a background character that doesn't say a word might be my favorite, especially if it's an aircraft carrier.
So here I have a human ver of Admiral Dwight D. Flysenhower. Enjoy
A Planes Discussion: "CV-10"
Did anybody else see this in the background of this scene? I've only just realized this while casually rewatching the film with friends for the anniversary last night. This is a really shitty image quality but there's a thing painted on Skipper's hangar.
Me: "wait wait wait look! Look it- it's the- the- the boat dude! That's the thing on the boat dude!!!"
It says "CV-10"
(here's another, clearer photo of the number on the right of the CV, because I didn't believe it actually said 10 but it absolutely does.)
As pointed out by @ask-shu-todoroki this actually is NOT a reference to the Flysenhower like I originally thought. Flysenhower is CVN-81.
This is CV-10.
So yes, the next question was of course: "Who the FUCK is CV-10 then???"
And this is what CV-10, as wikipedia states, actually is:
This is the USS Yorktown, which was only in service for five years (1943-1947) during WWII. She was since striken and is now a museum site at Patriots Point in Mount Pleasant, SC.
I have no clue why this ship's a part of Skipper's hangar decor, but aside from it being either an animator's mistake or a nod to the ship itself from them, it could either be there because
A) Skipper is just a history buff and likes/appreciates this other ship, or has had some history and experience with it, or
B) Someone lived in his hangar before him that had something to do with CV-10 (given the ship would be significantly older than both real-world Eisenhower and WoC Flysenhower)
So YEAH that's pretty interesting
Does anyone know why some of the corsairs look a little different? Like I have a few questions
What do the tail markings mean?
Like Jigsaw two has a big JW but Scotty and 5’s are small while Charlie just has a big NP. Skipper also has a small JW but the rudder is checkered. They are all the only ones to have them too while the rest don’t even have anything.
Like I can take a guess as to why Skipper’s is checkered (literally skipper) but I don’t know about the others.
What does the NP on Charlie’s stand for?? Is it short for Enterprise because that was probably their carrier? If so, why was it the carrier and not JW like everyone else? Is he a marine or so mething?
Are the rudder markings based on rank??? Why is it that only the ones that have the letters are acknowledged? did the squadron go through a scuffed transition to the ident on the tail leaving some without it? Am I overthinking this?
Also some of the corsairs are painted differently. If you look hard enough you’ll notice that like 29 and Jigsaw 2 are very different as well as some others. Like looking at this pic you can already see 29’s lighter part going higher than the planes in the background. Some seem darker than others like 15 and idk if it was just detail or there’s an actual explanation behind this
I’m not gonna point how skipper is wildly different in shade from the rest because skipper is skipper.
Some of them have Markings? Like Scotty and 36 have red lines and he and McKinley both have this boxy-ish outline right under their cockpits. You can see it in the above image on 29 and McKinley(19). But Scotty(below) has both of them as well as the small JW. It’s hard to see the red but it’s around the insignia
edit: after a quick google into the history of the insignia the red was originally an added outline but it got changed to blue sometime later so like
Are the red corsairs just older?? Even if they are why didn’t they get it repainted? Why is it just them that have the red? Maybe the red ones are just non-navy(maybe marine?)/came from another squadron and the original JWs just refused the red? (Apparently some pacific units actually did) what about the box? There’s still no answers to the box
Also just gonna point out: most of the jws actually have light blue outlines on their insignias compared to a darker one! It was mentioned some navy pacific aircraft had lighter outlines so damn
edit 2: ok after another trip to Google APPARENTLY white box things are just tape meant as a seal cause sometimes the Corsair fuel tanks would leak and splatter the canopy? And this problem was later resolved in newer ones
So maybe the boxed ones ARE just older?
Lmao, imagine being a Corsair on a recon flying and out of nowhere ur tank leaks and u pull a bulldog and when u get back to the carrier the solution is to just tape it up. And it happens to ur buddies too
The thing about the paint schemes and the tail letters still hasn’t been answered.
Thinking about this is keeping me up. It’s two am at the time I’m writing this.
Anyways, you have to admit, these guys got some serious details for side characters with like a minute of screen time. I guess the creators really knew corsairs or did their research? Bravo.
Dusty in the Flysenhower, it is the first design of his uniform
a normal day with the jws
