“O-Oh...!”

Nakaji carefully took the small plush from Sayuri and examined it; the coal fur is as soft as ever and the grumpy expression mirrored Nakaji almost exactly...Especially with the sign. All it is missing are glasses and a scarf really...

“I...” he clears his throat, obviously flustered at the sudden gift. Why didn’t he have one for her?! Sayrui always gives him things so unexpectedly! “I love it Sayuri, t-thank you. I wish I, uh, had something to give you..”

Crimson flushed into the hero’s features as Sayuri gasped and squealed. Was it really that big of a deal??? Oh no he feels so embarrassed.

“E-Eh–!? R-Really? U-Um..” Edda stammered, desperately trying to find his bearings. “Flowers? N-Notes? Um, o-okay-! Ah b-but what kind of flowers..? What if they had ladybugs in them? She’s scared of those…” he mumbled. “She likes looking for four leaf clovers, what if I got her a bouquet of those? Ah, but they aren’t flowers, never mind that’s dumb…B-But I’m no g-good at writing about..love but I could t-try. W-What do I s-say..?”

Edda scratched at the top of his head, slowly feeling himself grow overwhelmed by the idea of romancing Ruri. Though, Sayuri’s request distracted him from his swarming thoughts.

“H-Huh? Oh! O-Of course I’ll help you, Sayuri! Ahh Nakaji’s gonna be so happy when he hears you like him! O-Oh–! Don’t tell him I said that, he won’t be happy–!!”

The loud thud actually made Nakaji jump slightly.

Who was that??? That didn’t sound like his cat jumping down from somehwere he shouldn’t be!?

“WHO THE FUCK IS THAT!?” he yelled. “I’LL FUCKING KILL YOU; GET THE HELL OUT OF MY HOUSE!”

Just because Nakaji couldn’t see, didn’t mean that he doesn’t know where he keeps his katana.

He snatched the sword from the side of his bed and unsheathed it. Slowly, he felt his way to his door and immediately spotted someone laying on the floor at the foot of his door.

These sword lessons would finally pay off, huh?

The boy raised the blade..

And stopped.

He’s seen Sayuri enough with and without his glasses to recognize her. She may be a blob of red and black but she was a familiar blob.

“S..Sayuri-chan?” he asked, putting the weapon away and carefully crouching.

“Holy fu- I’m so sorry---” he stammered softly, patting at the air as he tried to find her and hug her but ultimately failing.  “I-I can’t see...”

With the way you act, isn't it bad to have such a boring girlfriend? I mean, she always gets on your case for stuff, right?

He growls.

“She’s not boring. If anything, her worried nature is why I’m not dead from doing something stupid.”

"S-Special devilery...!" Sayuri squeaked from behind the couple of boxes she was trying her best to hold onto. "A-Ah, Happy Birthday, Nakaji! She was able to balance the boxes in the crook of her arm as her other hand held out a costume crown to her taller boyfriend. "You get to be a king, today," she smiled brightly. In one of the boxes would be a new laptop. In the other would be an external drive loaded with a lot of different games on it. -(@flyxfarxaway)

Nakaji’s eyes widened behind his glasses as Sayuri approached him with the boxes and the crown she had for him. What was inside he wondered.

“A-Ah, thank you, Sayuri.” Nakaji smiled, normally dead tone now much more gentle and light. He took the crown and replaced his hat with it instead; in truth, he felt a little silly wearing it but since Sayuri gave it to him he loves it.

He carefully took the boxes as well and smiled a teensy bit wider before opening them and looking down at the gifts in shock.

“S..Sayuri.. You didn’t have to get me something so expensive--!” he practically squeaked. He’s not worth this much--!!! “I--..T..T-Thank you Sayuri...I love it.” he finished.

It was easier to thank her rather than to stumble over his words, trying to explain he doesn’t deserve such a nice gift.

Nakaji had left Taro in his room for just five minutes; FIVE!!! And it was to get him some snacks so he could shut up!!!!
