So does Dante hate being a homunculus, and sharing her body with Lyra?

Yes, Dante hates being a homunculus because she can't do alchemy. Even if she wasn't sharing her body with Lyra, she would hate not being able to perform alchemy. Dante takes great pride in her skills as an alchemist so she feels very incomplete. On top of that she has severe PTSD over being killed by Gluttony, and has picnic attacks. It's actually very interesting to think about as a writer cause Dante was always so sure of herself in the anime.

Lyra's in even worse shape mentally. Like Dante, Lyra also has PTSD, and is trying to deal with her new life as a homunculus, and the fact that she's sharing her body with her murderer, a person she considered a teacher, and friend.

One of the themes of Fullmetal Alchemist is tragedy, and I think it's an interesting story that I'm looking to tell.

How did you come up with the idea for your Dante/Lyra story that you're working on?

It started on Deviantart. I saw some fan art of Nina as a homunculus.

It got me thinking about poor Lyra, and I wondered if someone had ever made fan art of Lyra as a homunculus. Around the same time I started to think about what would happen if Dante ever came back as a homunculus. What would she look like? Dante died in Lyra's body, so if she came back she would probably look like Lyra.

I started to brainstorm ideas about how Dante could come back.

And then I came across this amazing piece of fan art by @mibibosartblog.

After seeing this fantastic fan art I became more inspired to write my story. I knew that I wanted to bring Lyra back as a homunculus too. But I didn't want to be seen as ripping off someone else's ideas so I decided to have Dante, and Lyra to share the same homunculi body.

I'm glad that Dante's death is off-screen. I don't want to see poor Lyra's body being chewed into pieces by Gluttony.

Question

What color is Lyra/Dante's hair? It looks almost black in some scenes, and in others it looks more dark brownish.

I'm asking cause I'm color blind, and need to know her hair color for my Dante/Lyra homunculus fanfic that I'm working on.

In my opinion Lyra's death is just as sad as Nina, and Hughes deaths.

I love how versatile Lyra's design is.

Her face can be very cute.

But her face can look cold, and heartless when Dante takes her body.
