so today @northernscruffycat and i rewatched the fma movie conquerer of shamballa

-at the beginning Edward wears a fishbowl on his head and its never explained why

-edward lives with an older blue eyed blonde (and very thicc) version of alphonse

Hughes is kind of racist and also briefly becomes a nazi???

Oh yeah btw it’s set in the real Munich of 1923

Fritz Lang plays a significant role in the movie and he looks exactly like king Bradley

-ed attacks him because of this and assaults his chauffeur. Despite having no idea whats going on, fritz lang is like “oh well I guess u can be my chaffeur now just leave the other one on the ground there :)”

Fritz lang is looking for a dragon, who is envy. like… it isn’t a shapeshifting thing, envy is literally just a dragon now

This witch society need envy to do a witch spell (which is actually alchemy) and also they’ve captured hoenhime to keep envy quiet. To do this they just put hoeinhim in envys dragon mouth and that just works for some reason

Meanwhile in the amestries al is like… cosplaying as ed, but much more sensibly. No edgy leather pants for this young man

Winry and sheska are a lesbian couple

roy has isolated himself in a cabin in the middle of a snowstorm for no reason even if at the end of fma03 it looked like he was settling down with Riza and looking to the future? He’s like a sad pirate and all his co-workers are embarrassed of him

-but its okay he shows up later for no reason in a hot air balloon to save the day

Hitler makes a cameo

-the cameo actually leads to the real life historical event, the beer hall putsch, which in this movie is apparently stopped by Edward driving fritz langs car through the wall. I sure do remember studying that in history

The thicc al double dies an unnecessary gay death then the movie gets dissolves into weird fighting

-al sees a child get crushed and immediately jumps to HUMAN TRANSMUTATION but then ed is like “don’t do that :(“ and al is like “okay :)” and everything is fine

Theres a villain but I don’t remember anything about her apart from that she turns into a giant tar monster at the end and has a melodramatic death

Fma 03 is my favourite thing in the world but this movie is really dumb

It was supposed to be a new series entirely but then brotherhood was on the way so they scrambled it together into a crappy movie which is a shame bc the production/animation/music/colours of this movie are GORGEOUS its just everything else thats a mess

I think this hidden potential is why I think about it a lot more than the Milos movie, which was just kind of generically bad, this is like… WILD bad

Ed used to say- Roy remembers, vividly -”I’ll sleep when I’m dead”; bags under his eyes and feet dragging, but dragging forward in that uneven, flesh and metal gait. He used to say it and then nod off despite himself, his body as stubborn as the rest of him but still with limits. And back then, Roy would smile and wait, smile at his resolve and smile at that single minded fire- and wait, because there was always Alphonse, ready to pick him up.

After Ed- after. After. It- happens, Roy tries not to think about it. Tries not to think about Ed, at all, because the thought of him gone makes him want to break things, break bones. His own, maybe. But he’s weak, and he’s old, older than he’s any right to be at his age. He’s weak, and he wonders how literal Ed used to be. If he knew, somewhere deep down, that the trade for Al would be so complete, that there’d be time to rest then. All thoughts of Ed hurt, but those would add an extra twist in his chest, make him forget how to breathe.

And then he’s back. Oh god, have mercy on his undeserving soul, Ed is back and mostly whole and so tired, after everything is over. But he doesn't say it, anymore, and Roy - Roy is so very, very lucky, because now Ed just sleeps, and on most nights, it's with Roy's arms wrapped around him..

a very quick, very messy thing for @royedweek2019 and the second day prompt “I’ll sleep when I’m dead”, also with a very messy caption as is the tradition. XD
