BASE MUSIC: COLLA3ORATE PROJECT SEASON 1.5
A year after idols first heard of the advent of the COLLA3ORATE project, word gets out among the three companies that base is once again looking for idols to come together to collaborate on music in project groups. This time, the focus is a bit different. In contrast to the previous COLLA3ORATE songs, which were promoted on music shows, base has decided to release a season “1.5″ of the project, which will include three total songs released sponsored by three different brands. These songs won’t be promoted on music shows but the artists on each COLLA3ORATE song will hold a mini-concert after the song’s release.
IN ‘VERSE INFO
In the final two weeks of February, idols who have either expressed interest in the opportunity to their managers or have been specifically picked by management for consideration will be sent details of the concept of each song and MV (but not a demo). Idols will be able to express their preferred concept to their managers but final decisions will be made by the department of artist and repertoire management responsible for arranging the project groups and their choices may not ultimately align with the idols’ preferences.
Shortly following, the song lineups will be confirmed with the chosen idols. As they near work for the project, they will be sent full-length demos of the song they will be recording and will also be made aware of the other idols they will be working with.
Further schedules for recording, practicing, and preparing the song will come at a later date.
OUT OF ‘VERSE INFO
Note that these are not official sub-units and the songs will not get promotion. While it is also not a brand deal, since the MVs are each sponsored by/in collaboration with a particular brand, a muse cannot be the face of a competing brand or product of that which is sponsoring the song and MV.
In-character, it’s an opportunity for the three companies to profit off of combinations they couldn’t have otherwise, this time without having to provide the budget for the releases themselves since the brands will be fronting the bill this time around.
All singles will be released by the project group under the name of COLLA3ORATE. For this special project, the regular music claim waiting period rules do not apply and a mun is allowed to have a muse releasing another points claimed song in the same month. Though all songs will be officially credited under the name COLLA3ORATE, performers will be individually credited on most platforms as well, so performance involvement will be added to your muse’s Exclusive blog career page.
If you’re interested in having your muse participate in this opportunity, a form will be opened up at 12PM (noon) EST on February 28 to submit your muse for the project. For the initial submissions, muns may only be confirmed for one muse in one of the songs. After first round submissions are made and confirmed, a date will be announced where muns can submit for second and possibly third muses.
All songs will have a preparation period of two months in addition to the month of release. For instance, the May release will be worked on in March, April, and the beginning of May. During this preparation time, mini schedules will be posted for the idols collaborating on the specific song that the involved idols can earn points for writing about. Select days of the preparation process will be filmed to be uploaded on base Online, but most of the preparation will be off-camera.
Any charting will mirror the real life singles, as with all COLLA3ORATE projects.
Any further questions should be directed to the main’s ask box!
GUIDELINES
POSITIONS:
Each song must include an idol from at least two of the three companies and no more than two members of the same group can be on the same song. It will be designated on the song page if a song is no longer open to idols from a specific company or group.
CREATIVE CLAIMS:
For this opportunity, partial credits should be assumed to be approximately 50% credit or less in their respective area.
Musical creative claims are available on songs for the project, but only one muse per mun can claim creative credits on any song for this round. A muse cannot have creative claims on the song they are performing in and only one muse by the same mun may be involved in the same song in any way (be it performer or musical claims).
Since writers and producers are working from a brief this time instead of from scratch, songs are potentially open to creative claims by multiple muses, but only one muse per type of claim. (e.g. Muse A can claim partial lyrics and partial composition while Muse B claims partial production, but Muse A and Muse B cannot both claim partial lyrics).
In order to claim a creative credit, the muse must already have a creative credit points claim in the same area(s) on an already released points claimed song.
Creative claims must be made with points, meaning you must have the appropriate number of points available at the time of claiming. Writing verification is not an option for this project.
Since there are fewer spots this round than the first, when the forms open for the first time, you may only submit for a creative claim or for a performance position form. Once the second round is open, you may submit for each a performance or creative claim position for a second muse or the one you haven’t already submitted for for your first muse.
For idols claiming any musical creative credits (lyrics, composition, or production), the songs would have been submitted to their respective company by the end of January 2021 at latest. Unlike the first round, these songs would have been specifically requested with a concept brief including the brand the song will be sponsored by. They would be notified of that their song was selected for the project in mid-February.
