“ARE YOU READY, MINHO?” jaekyung’s got a shit-eating grin plastered across his face as he sneaks up behind his groupmate and catches him in a headlock, ruffling his hair with vigorous enthusiasm. it feels like it’s been too long since he’s led the troops into battle (read: performed with his group onstage), even though they’ve been relatively busy with comeback preparations and whatnot. jaekyung himself has been busy enjoying the summer sun— dressed in khaki shorts, reflective sunglasses, and an unbuttoned aloha shirt while sporting a margarita in one hand, he’d look like a tacky tourist if his face wasn’t so well-known. but he’s long since put down his drink in favor of preparations for the stage.
“i’m assuming you’re ready, since you’re a senior idol and all,” jaekyung muses. “hey, what are your thoughts on the setlist? view, replay, and tell me; i read somewhere that our fans are complaining we don’t perform newer songs. when i think about it, though, doesn’t that make sense? i actually kind of like performing our older songs. they’re nostalgic. and also, i looked best in those ones, according to your grandmother— she is, after all, my biggest fan.” jaekyung can’t help a grin as he teases minho. it’s a joke that’s always been longstanding, and there’s no way the leader’s going to let up now.
