DAEWON DOESN’T HAVE TO WONDER what it's like to be below everyone, because he’s an entire snake and he knows it. fortunately, shen is either very tolerant of that or is a snake himself, because when daewon called him up and asked if he wanted to mess with the fans, shen agreed. it’s how the two of them wound up sitting in a café in busy-as-hell, seoul with daewon ~gazing lovingly, longingly~ at shen every now and again. he’s well-aware of the cameras “discreetly” snapping evidence of the two of them— daewon lays the schmooze on extra thick.

both unity and origin are boy groups to look out for, with unity being the monster rookie that they are and origin being, well, origin. so naturally, when the two maknaes happened to look in each other’s direction one day for maaaayybe two seconds, at least a hundred different cameras managed to capture the moment and create elaborate theories behind it.

and so kasemtoile was born, sparking fanfics and fanarts and questionable ship edits left and right. daewon, who had a soft spot for the malicious, managed to get in touch with his counterpart; it just so happened that they clicked well together and became friends, both finding amusement in the ship. they feed into it like this every now and again, and daewon greedily laps up the cameras trained on them.

“hyung,” daewon murmurs breathlessly, taking pieces of his meal and transferring it to shen’s plate. it’s mostly for the benefit of anyone nearby who might be an angel or a genesis (and judging by the heads tilted eagerly toward their table, that’s quite a few). “origin’s been working so hard lately that i worry about you— please take some of my meat. you’re eating properly, right?”

post-performance adrenaline was a funny thing. sometimes it didn’t appear at all and joohwan was left completely unsatisfied with what he’d just delivered. in those moments, he became harsher and closed off, less likely to utter a word until they had reached the hotel they were staying at or the dorm. he’d go to bed still looking back on everything he’d done on stage, second-guessing his every move to try and pinpoint what went wrong. but sometimes, like tonight, hwan left the stage aching to go back. being given the opportunity to perform two songs rather than one was amazing, but his excitement was through the roof and even with the rain that was pouring down, he could’ve easily performed another three, four, five songs. taken over by the happiness, the boy was practically bouncing around backstage, walking at a faster pace than necessary. inevitably, the dancer slipped, bracing his fall by reaching for the most solid surface around, which happened to be someone’s chest. an apology was about to slip from joohwan’s lips – polite only because of the cameras around them – when his eyes dragged up towards the other’s face and he realized who it was. “ oh, shen hyung, ” the term foreign to someone who wasn’t used to showing respect towards the other boy. “ sorry about this. ” and because he wouldn’t waste the opportunity, hwan dragged his hands lower before he let go. “ you still aren’t up on stage for a while, are you? ”

    having a best friend that wasn’t in the same company was hard. they rarely got to see each other, and whenever they did, they were both so tired from their own schedules that they rarely did anything fun. iseul wasn’t even sure how their friendship started, but was grateful to have someone who understood him in ways no one else could. with everything that had been going on in his life, he was happy to get out of the dorm and shut off the noise for a while. walking into their usual spot, he noticed shen sitting at their usual table. “i don’t even know how long it’s been, but i know you missed me. i mean who wouldn’t miss me?” he grinned, moving the chair out so he could sit down.
