honestly, as much as hanli wanted it to be a smooth sailing relationship, life with sunny wasn’t always. . . sunny, to say the least. there were times where they’d butted heads with each other - silent treatment and cold wars over unspoken conflict, but at the end of the day, they were still friends, roommates who kept each other’s dirty little secrets and hanli would always be grateful to sunny for giving her that sense of privacy and secrecy. and as a return, hanli had never once commented nor revealed sunny’s habits of bringing boys home. she understood what it was like, just wanting to be normal, finding some kind of semblance of belonging, even if it was just for a few hours. what more, having stayed together for two years now, she’d developed some sort of inkling to when something was going on with sunny; the air would always be heavier, the strong scent of masculine cologne would linger, the beds would get significantly messier. hanli would know and make sure she’d fall asleep with her earbuds in.
