once the door opened, the girl quickly moved her head as to not fall forward. letting her eyes flutter close, she let out a sigh of relief, thankful the door had finally opened.
“thank god, i’ve been waiting forever. no-” when she heard the voice, her eyes flung open as she looked at the other in shock. she did recognize the other, but he wasn’t who she was expecting. awkwardly, she closed her mouth and backed up from the door, looking down in embarrassment. had she really been making that much noise on someone else’s door?
“i’m so sorry!” minji said, sincerely apologetic. she’d been in such a panic from the text that she didn’t stop to consider her friend may not even be home. the girl now felt stupid, hoping her small reputation would be enough to identify her as a fellow idol and not some sasaeng.
“actually…yes, i am. i’m so sorry, again, i had no idea they were gone. i wouldn’t have been so loud. but…could i wait in here, please? it’s a little cold,” she replied, a small chuckle escaping her lips. her ride wasn’t coming to pick her up for a few hours, and she’d burned her phone battery trying to frantically call.
looking across the door, minji felt sympathy for the man, clearly tired by the way he’d approached her. after thinking for a moment, she lifted the bag with a shy smile. “i feel horrible. if you want, you can take some ramen as an apology? i made it the best i could,” she offered, lifting up the pitiful dish.
it didn’t take long for jihoon to place a name and group to her face. he might not have known every idol in the industry personally, but he knew who vice was. the latest of dimensions’ girl group who had made quite the first impression with their unique concept and sound. he had never really been big on rock or alternative music, but he could definitely appreciate vice’s sound. it was something new and fresh that most groups didn’t dare to do, especially girl groups. he hoped that they would find nothing but success in the future, although he knew it would be hard for them to break into the industry.
“it’s okay, no need to apologize.” he was a little bit peeved that his rest had been broken, but it wasn’t anything that he couldn’t deal with. besides, it would have been rude to leave her outside banging on the door all night. not only to her, but to everyone else who lived in that complex. he was sure that people in other buildings could have heard her banging and yelling and the last thing they needed was a noise complaint.
as she spoke, jihoon found it harder and harder to stay upset, even though he hadn’t really been that upset to begin with in the first place. after waving her inside, he shut the door behind her. “do you mind taking off your shoes, please?” he asked politely, before smiling softly. “don’t feel bad, there’s no way you could have known that they weren’t home yet. no need to beat yourself up over it. they should be home any minute now.” the offer of ramen made his smile widen and he nodded his head. “i guess it’s the least you could do,” he teased, gently taking the dish from her hands. “are you thirsty?” his eyes traveled down to the soju she brought. “never mind, i guess that answers that.”
