harring: what is your all-time favorite band, movie, and painting?
BAND — Brockhampton is an American band that debuted in the year 2015, the same year Blue became a trainee. Spending long hours dedicated to strengthening his talents, he would occupy the silence with listening the group’s hip hop melodies. Not only does Blue appreciate their music, but he is also keen on the fact that one vocalist, Kevin, is openly homosexual to the public. It’s a strength Blue hopes to one day possess. He hopes to one day be able to perform while being honest with his fans—being honest by telling them that he is not a heterosexual. Blue is pansexual.
MOVIE — The Handmaiden is one of the films he returns to often. Not having been given the privilege to watch many films when younger, his father claiming films are a form of propaganda to manipulate people, he only began to invest time in films when making family with other people such as with Yeona, Changki, and Ji-Hyuk. Often, they get together at one’s place to lazy around and watch a random film from what is available. This film tells a story of a con-artist and pickpocket who are on a mission to seduce and steal from a wealthy Japanese women. Blue simply believes the film is interesting.
PAINTING — The Great Wave off Kanagawa is a painting mother hung on the wall of the kitchen. Minwoo would sit and stare at the painting, wondering why an artist decided to paint an ocean’s wave, and why are so many people fascinated with the painting? He also never understood why mother would hang a Japanese painting as opposed to one traditional to Korea. However, one night she spoke fondly of the painting, her words delicate and trailing with fondness. Blue grew keen of the painting, so much so that he got a tattoo of the painting.
