#OnThisDay (October 4) In 1918, Japanese chemist Kenichi Fukui was born in Nara, Japan. He shared the Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 1981 with Roald Hoffmann for their theories, developed independently, concerning the course of chemical reactions.
