rise and shine ⋆ in&tm

smile came to her lips as she walked towards her best friend’s apartment.  it was way too early – but not to her. her body was used to be up early, even before the first rays of sun were on the sky. she didn’t want to lose any of them. the dawn was dear to her even before she knew why and since very young, the princess didn’t understand why people wouldn’t be in their best disposition in the morning. the sun shined and everything was bathed in light. wasn’t that enough to lure everyone to be up early in the morning? she didn’t understand the objective of sleeping in. nana never had such desire – at least in sunny days -, no matter how few were her hours of sleep. mark knew about her habits, so he probably knew that she was on the streets when he sent the text. it was a sweet text, fitting her best friend, and she couldn’t dream to say no to him.

stopping by a coffee shop, nana got herself two cups of green tea, as well cookies and steamed buns. it wasn’t the ideal for a breakfast once nana was used to complete meals, with soup, rice and fish. the western tastes never seduced her. but in a morning like this, she just wanted to be at ease with her best friend. no great preparation was needed to have a good time with mark. it was only natural. his presence was enough to calm her nerves and to make her feel comfortable.

“good morning!” she cried enthusiastically when mark appeared behind the door of his place. the princess hurried to hug him – a bit awkwardly seeing what she had in hands. the state of mark, with his messy hair and spongebob underwear, didn’t escape her clinical eyes and nana let out a chuckle. “good choice, hm?” she said, eyebrows raising and looking down a bit to point out the underwear. “i thought you’d like this” nana put the bags on his hand as well the cups of tea while she excused herself in, taking off her shoes and wearing the slippers she left there. “how is my mark doing this morning?”

It struck like a train hitting him straight in the chest, knocking the breath from his lungs. His ears were ringing form the intensity at which his blood was being pumped through his veins. Reading over the words again he hoped to every god he knew of that the words would change to something else. It wasn't happening, it was a bad dream - a dream that made him want to be sick, to cry till his eyes hurt and scream till his throat rubbed raw. He couldn't lose his best friend, his simply couldn't.

seohyun is keen aware that in this world, if she failed to live up to the expectations of achieving perfection or to be a useless mongrel— her path in this world would sever. she feels that it was necessary, to always be “perfect” and strive for it.

it is more than saddening,

how thirsty she is to be perfect.

but now, she has failed and is convinced that there is nothing in store in such an earth like this one, for her.

so, she chooses to acknowledge the fact that everything has came crashing down to her and the flame has weakened, cannot be lit and be unrelenting.

of firsts — mark&chanyeol

if there's anything chanyeol has learned from his time on the road (and man does that make him sound older than he actually is), it's how to spot a first-timer.

chanyeol tends to describe first-timers as having a frightened doe feel to them. they tend to look around everywhere all at once; do something with their hands whether it be fiddle with them or rub them against their thighs; and are indecisive about what drink they'd like, most of the time.

so it's impossible not to spot the first-timer sitting on a bar stool nearby, drinking yet another can of pop with a hunched posture. the menu for the bar is right beside him, and he has pursued it many times, only to settle on another coke when asked.

chanyeol knows that most first-timers didn't like being 'outed', so he had (surprisingly) remained quiet, but the awkward atmosphere is starting to get to him. whether his nervousness be due to the fact that he's alone, or that he's never drank alcohol before, or just that the barley mow is a foreign establishment, he is going to extend a hand.

"hey," he says amicably, leaning his elbows on the bar counter, "need some help deciding on a drink? it's a pretty difficult process, so if you need help from a seasoned pro like me, it makes total sense."

blank, dull obsidian orbs stared at him, she then quirked a brow. “you bloody hell think so?” she looked away and shook her head, arms crossed. “hug me then, i guess. you dingbat— words don’t really prove anything.”
