Boxer Jungkook, Dancer Jimin
Part 3: Jungkook visits Jimins showcase
A/N: The last part of my Focus Au, yay! I hope you guys liked it. On another note, I’ll leave for a week to a camp in france and won’t have internet so I won’t be able to upload anything. However, feel free to leave questions or request or whatever and I’ll answer once I’m back. Talking about... I thought about writing a sequel to this but from Taes point of view with Taegiseok ship is this a nay? Or like what do you guys think?
Word count: 6.441
After that night of Jungkooks fight they saw each other almost everyday, even if just for half an hour.
Jungkook was giddily looking forward to Jimins showcase while Jimin was stressed more with every day. He already put a lot of pressure on himself, always aiming for perfection but knowing that Jungkook would see him and probably have high expectations made it even worse.
He practiced every free minute, even when he was in the supermarket or on his way home, going through his routines. Tae tried to reason with him, told him to not overwork himself, that it will do more damage than good and that he needed to let his body rest but Jimin thought he could rest enough after the showcase.
It came to the point where Jimin skipped meals and sleep, something that had already happened in the past and caused Jimin to spend a week in the hospital due to lack of nutrition and over exhaustion. Tae decided that it was enough so he swallowed his pride and stole Jungkooks number out of Jimins phone.
They had a habit of Jimin texting Jungkook when he finished his practice (or whatever he was busy with lately, which seemed to be a lot) and Jungkook rushing to pick him up from where ever. Which is what he did today as well, already feeling ecstatic to see his little angel again. Yeah, okay they saw each other almost every day but usually only for a few minutes until Jimin had to sleep or to practice or another important appointment. Jungkook may or may not feel a little salty about it and now that he heard from Tae that Jimin slacked at caring for himself he finally had a reason to address the matter.
He went to Jimins studio and waited till the boy came out. Jimin looked tired, exhausted even with bags under his eyes and his body slouched. He stumbled into Jungkooks arms, who was quick to wrap the boy in a hug and greet him with a kiss to his head.
“Are you okay?” He asked carefully.
“Hmm, just tired.” Jimin mumbled while rubbing his face in the soft material of Jungkooks hoodie. They weren’t official yet but Jungkook was keen on changing that as soon as Jimins show was over and the boy had more time again.
“Alright, I’ll take you home okay?” Jungkook said. It was already way past midnight and he really didn’t like that Jimin was practicing so long. Jimin hummed again and they moved to start walking only for Jimins legs to give out and him almost falling wasn’t it for Jungkook who quickly wrapped his arms around his middle and scooping him out of the air.
“Alright, I got this.” Jungkook said and picked Jimin up, like a piggy back ride but on the front with Jimin having his arms around Jungkooks neck and his head resting on his shoulder, already dozing off.
“I can walk.” Jimin pouted but didn’t make any effort to wiggle out of his arms.
“Of course you can angel.” Jungkook cooed, carrying Jimin to his apartment. Jimin intentionally got a flat close to his studio which was very convenient in moments like this for they reached it about ten minutes later due to Jungkook taking the shortcuts Jimin usually avoided. Jungkook pulled the keys out of Jimins pocket and opened the door, which was quite the challenge with a sleeping dancer in his arms.
He sat the boy down on the couch and gently stroked his hair out of his eyes. Jungkook pondered for a few moments what to do. Should he wake Jimin up? He probably hasn’t eaten yet and his body is tense but Jungkook finally decided that rest was the most important now, so he picked him up again and carried him to his bedroom. He got rid of his shoes, pants and hoodie, leaving him in briefs and a shirt. He tugged him in and, after a good night kiss on the forehead, left the bedroom.
Jungkook stayed on the couch this night. They already shared a bed a few times but Jimin didn’t give him consent so he wouldn’t dare to assume. Also, he didn’t want to disturb the boy in his sleep.
He woke up early in the morning, back a little sore from the small couch but he wouldn’t complain. Instead, he got up to make a rich breakfast with everything he could find in Jimins shelves. He fried eggs, made rice, vegetables and meat. He even cut fruit and got pastries from the near bakery shop.
After he had prepared everything he made a cup of coffee just how he knew Jimin liked it, much sugar and a shot of cream. He made his way over to the bedroom and opened the door only a slit wide to peek inside. When he saw Jimin still curled up around a few pillows, chest moving steadily with every breath and eyes closed he couldn’t help but stare in awe. Goddamn, he is so beautiful.
He sneaked into the room and sat down on the edge of the bed. Jimin made a soft sound in his sleep and pushed the pillows away, curling around him instead. In moments like this he wasn’t really amazed as to how quick and how hard he fell for this boy. Sure, he had crushes before but never has he developed such strong feelings in such a short period of time, for no one.
“Good morning, sunshine.” He whispered and ruffled through Jimins hair, making it even more messy. Jimin let out a protesting noise and moved a little to hide his face against Jungkooks thigh.
“Breakfast is ready.” He chuckled as Jimin made no move to get up. It took a few seconds until his eyes suddenly flew open and he jumped up like a deer that was poked.
“Oh my god, what time is it?” He asked, rubbing at his eyes forcefully.
“Something about eight am.” Jungkook answered, still holding the cup in his hand.
“What? Why didn’t you wake me? Oh my god I’m so late! I should have been at practice for two hours already!” Jimin rambled and quickly scurried out of bed before he suddenly looked down at himself, over to Jungkook and back down at himself.
“Wait.” He said. “What are you even doing here? Did you undress me? Did we meet up last night?” Jungkook pushed the cup into Jimins hands while answering.
“You don’t remember? I picked you up after practice. You were totally knocked out, actually I’m not even surprised. I brought you back and put you into bed, so yes I undressed you. I’m sorry if that was inappropriate.” Jungkook explained. Jimin stared down at his cup with flushed cheeks before taking a cautious sip and humming.
“D-Did… did something… did w-we do a-anything?” He whispered and Jungkooks eyes widened in disbelieve.
“What? Are you serious? How can you think I’d do something to you while you are basically unconscious? Do you think that low of me?” Jungkook asked honestly a little hurt. Jimin looked down even more.
“I-I’m sorry… I didn’t… I mean I don’t think of y-you like that I j-just uhm…” Jungkook sighed and got up.
“Come on breakfast is ready. And I slept on the couch, by the way.” He said, while leaving the room.
“I’m sorry.” Jimin said again and followed him a few moments later.
“O-Oh my god!” He breathed, once he saw the breakfast Jungkook has prepared.
“Y-You did all that? F-For me?” He asked amazed.
“Well yes, duh. Who else is living here? John?” Jungkook said, still a teeny tiny but salty. However, that quickly faded when Jimins bottom lip started quivering.
“W-Why are y-you doing this for m-me?” He whimpered. It seemed like all the stress from the last days finally caught up to him.
“I’m ho-horrible and mean a-and a t-terrible dancer and-“ Jungkook took the cup out of Jimins trembling hands and pulled him in a hug.
“Stop that.” He murmured. “Don’t talk about yourself like this, you are none of these things. You are so amazing and kind, passionate and hard-working. You are so talented, beautiful and cute inside and out and you could never, you hear me? Never disappoint me. You could literally just stay on that stage doing nothing and I’d still cheer the loudest, because I’m so proud of you.” Jungkook said, halfway through his speech he had made Jimin look at him whose eyes were so wide and glassy and he looked at Jungkook in awe and disbelieve.
“You are just saying that.” He mumbled, looking down again but Jungkook lifted his face up once more.
“No, Jimin you have to believe me, because I believe in every word I said just now. You have me so whipped it’s pathetic, wrapped around your cute little pinky.” Jungkook lifted Jimins hand to kiss his chubby fingers. Jimin blushed and slapped his chest affectionately.
“You are an idiot.” He mumbled shyly.
“Hmm, I’m your idiot.” Jungkook grinned and pecked Jimins lips once before giving him a clap on his perfect ass. Jimin yelped a little.
“Come, let’s eat.” He said and led Jimin to the table. They sat down next to each other at first but Jimin was quick to climb into Jungkooks lap instead. The latter had one hand around his waist the other he used to eat and feed Jimin occasionally. His talk wasn’t finished yet though.
“Jimin?” He said at one point. Jimin hummed in return.
“Taehyung texted me, you know.” He started, wanting to be completely honest. He felt Jimin tense a little.
“Really? Why does he have your number? Was he mean?”
“A little” Jungkook chuckled “but in a funny way. He said he got my number out of your phone because… because he was worried. Worried about you.” Jimin turned a little so he could look at him.
“Jimin you passed out on me last night and I bet you didn’t eat either, did you?” Jimin was silent so he continued.
“I get that you want to practice as much as possible to be as perfect as possible but you need to set yourself limits, please. You are harming yourself like that.” Jungkook scolded, watching how Jimin gnawed at his bottom lip.
“I just…” The dancer started, fiddling with his chopsticks “It’s a lot of pressure, you know? It’s the biggest show for me so far a-and you are watching and it’s important for my future and I just… I don’t wanna f-fuck it up.” Jimin finally admitted.
“I don’t have to watch. If it’s putting more pressure on you it’s fine. I don’t have to come, your health is more important to me.” Jungkook offered but the dancer shook his head.
“N-No, I want you to come. It’s just… every time I take a break or do something other than practice I become uneasy and feel like it’s wasted time, even if it’s something like eating or sleeping. I don’t know…” Jungkook wrapped both arms around the boy now and pressed his face in the nape of his neck, leaving gentle kisses there.
“Okay, I’ll take care of you from now on. I’ll bring you lunch and force you to take breaks and I’ll pick you up at appropriate times to make sure you sleep enough.” Jungkook said determined. Jimin let out a high pitched squeal when Jungkook dig his teeth into his skin.
“Y-You really don’t have to do that.” He said and Jungkook answered with a quick drag of his tongue.
“I want to. That way I can see you more often and make sure you are fine. It’s only a few days left anyway.” Jungkook said.
The next following days he did just that and he loved it. He appeared at Jimins door every morning with breakfast, accompanying him to his studio before leaving for his classes. Then he returned to the studio somewhere along noon with lunch, usually he picked up some take out and forced Jimin to sit down with him for at least half an hour to eat. In the evening he picked him up again, brought him home and made him dinner, before making sure Jimin went to bed early. Jimin would greet him every time with glowing eyes, a shy smile and a fond 'thank you’ and Jungkook thought he could do this for the rest of his live.
The evening before the big showcase Jungkook exceptionally let Jimin stay a little longer for a final rehearsal, before making him dinner again and giving him a full body massage afterwards. Jimin had complained that it wasn’t necessary and that Jungkook was spoiling him too much but Jungkook begged to differ. Listen, if he get’s an excuse to grope Jimin in all the right places and cover it as a massage than he won’t fucking hesitate.
He slept over that night, because Jimin had admitted with burning cheeks that he slept better with Jungkook by his side (yes, he fucking died thank you very much) and so the boxer held the small figure in his arms, stroking his hair soothingly and trying to lull him to sleep. The next morning, however, Jimin has already left, a small note stuck on the pillow next to Jungkook saying
“Thank you so much for everything! See you tonight <3
Xoxo Jimin"
Jungkook smiled and carefully put the note in his wallet.
It was a Saturday so Jungkook didn’t really have a lot to do. After he went home to his own apartment, he worked on a few homeworks that were due soon and went to the boxing school for a few hours. After he got dinner it was finally time to get ready. He took a shower and dressed in tight black jeans and a mustard coloured button down with white stripes.
He was a little nervous although he wasn’t completely sure why. On his way to the central city theatre, where the show will be hosted, he stopped at a flower shop. He got a bouquet with dark red Amaryllis and Carnations, as well as white and purple ones. To be honest he felt a little cliché but he just hoped Jimin would like it.
The boxer met Tae in front of the building. They had continued to text every once in a while with Tae holding his promise of sending memes and Jungkook sending a few back occasionally. However, they never stopped teasing each other so Jungkook wasn’t really surprised when he saw the dirty look Tae gave him.
“Really? Flowers? I’m not even surprised anymore. Actually I am, why not roses? You know, for the fully authentic cliché feeling.” The older teased and Jungkook scoffed.
“Why so bitter? Jealous because you have no one to bring you flowers?” Jungkook smirked.
“Pfft, shut up!” Tae huffed.
“You know, I’d introduce you to my coach but unfortunately he already has a boyfriend.”
“Hah, what makes you think I’d even be interested?”
“Because you have 'desperate’ tattooed on your forehead.” Tae pushed him lightly to the side.
“Shut up and show me a picture of your coach.”
“What? I thought you are ‘not interested’? By the way you should already know what he looks like. He was with me in the ring two weeks ago.”
“Oh that time I was distracted with hating you and everyone in the room. I just wanna see that sorry ass that has to deal with you all the time. Is he bald yet?” Jungkook scoffed and pulled out his phone, showing Tae a picture of them both. (Pls imagine it’s just Namjoon, Yoongi and Kookie here, or at least ignore Tae in the back lol)
“The one I’m sitting on.” He explained.
“Damn" Tae mumbled. “Is the other one his boyfriend?”
“No that’s a friend of him. He’s another boxing teacher though.”
“Then whomst is his boyfriend?” Jungkook grinned and selected another picture.
“Damn.” Tae repeated. Jungkook chuckled as they entered the building and searched for their seats. Jimin had gotten them front row seats. Jungkook placed the flowers under his chair and rubbed his sweaty hands over his thighs. He couldn’t stop wondering how Jimin felt right now. He was probably terribly nervous and Jungkook wished he could go backstage and hug him. But instead he sat here and waited, listening to Tae who ranted about how good Jimin is and how mind-blown he will be. People around them started to settle down as well once the light started to dim.
A tall woman and a little shorter man stepped on the huge stage with microphones in their hand, both dressed in evening gown. They greeted the auditorium and explained a bit about their dance studio and what they do, Jungkook was quite impressed when he heard how they not only organize their own shows but also 'borrow’ their dancers for other shows, help with music videos and train celebrities. Then they talked about this evening and how it’s going to proceed.
After that the different artists presented. Jungkook was amazed by their talent but no one could compare to Jimin. Maybe he was biased but Jungkook felt so overwhelmed by Jimins presence on stage it was fascinating.
He was like a complete different person. Confident, unforgiving, strong and so beautiful. Jungkook has never seen ballet before, never really bothered with the sport. He always thought it was just about a bunch of girls jumping around in pink costumes… boy oh boy was he wrong.
Most of the time there were just a few dancer on the stage, five maximum. It made it easier to appreciate everyones skill and he was amazed how those few dancers where able to change the atmosphere in the room with just there body movements. There were performances which radiated strength and power, where he could basically feel their muscles clench, the sweat running down their bodies, their chest heaving. Those performances somehow motivated him. It made him restless in his chair, squirming and twitching to go into action himself. Not dancing like that obviously, no he just wanted to feel his muscles burn with strength like it had to be for the dancers.
Other performances were so light. The dancers jumped what felt like three meters high, they looked weightless and carefree. With smiles on their faces and their funny movements they might as well be fairies floating in the air, or children that happily romp around in a field on a warm spring day. That didn’t mean their dance was sloppy, on the contrary even. Jungkook believed it must be even harder to jump that high, move that controlled with so much strength and at the same time make it look like the easiest thing in the world. As if Jungkook could just stand up here and now and do the same thing. Which he most definitely couldn’t.
Jungkook never really understood when people said “dance is an international language", “everyone can understand dance" Because of course he has seen people dance before, street dancers or in a club, the showcases of the dance club in his highschool or his four years old niece who just started ballet as well. Obviously none of these were reliable sources to prove those statements for basically all of them just danced to impress, to show off. This, here, it was a whole new world. The dancers on the stage didn’t want to show off their skills, this was not about arrogance. The dancers didn’t try to impress the audience, they wanted them to understand the stories they are telling. And though Jungkook wasn’t sure if he understood all their stories right he most definitely related to the emotions they conveyed.
Especially the pieces with Jimin involved. Again, maybe Jungkook was biased, or it was just easier because he knew Jimin personally but he felt like the performances of the pink haired boy were the ones most relatable. He was sure the duet he danced with a petite woman was about heart break and he could see a few spectators around him wiping tears out of their eyes.
When Jimin danced his solo Jungkook was almost positive he wouldn’t make it. In the beginning it filled the hall with agony, so quickly that it hit Jungkook like a truck. He literally choked, eyes glued on the small body on stage. Jungkook didn’t know what the concept of that piece was, Jimin didn’t tell him anything about what to expect this evening but he could see it was a self-centred piece. Not in an egoistic way, but in an 'expressing your inner demons’ kind of way. At first Jungkook thought Jimin was in literal, physical pain until he understood that it was just the performance that conveyed this suffering. Further into the performance the lyrical I(Jungkook wasn’t sure if Jimin portrayed himself or if he was just a really good actor) made a development, they learned to handle the pain, adapt to it and live with it. It was as if they experienced an epiphany, something that explained that pain, that made the lyrical I accept it and maybe, on certain levels, learn to love it. The end of the piece made even Jungkook tear up because the dance changed from this heavy, suffocating atmosphere into this lightness. Jimin jumped and turned on stage in a completely different way, even though it were basically the same movements they now looked so changed. It conveyed enjoyment of life and Jungkook had goosebumps all over his body. He sheepishly wiped away a single tear and when the piece ended with Jimin standing in the middle of the stage, arms stretched out like a T and head thrown back, looking at the ceiling he had to gather himself for a moment. When the music ended there was silence for a few seconds, Jungkook would swear if someone had dropped a pin everyone would be able to hear it.
Then the applause began and filled the hall like thunder. Jimin left his pose and looked into the crowed with a smile that could cure cancer. He beamed while he bowed a few times as the people screamed and cheered for him. Jungkook wanted to jump on that stage and hug him as strong as he could. He wanted to know if that performance was about Jimin himself, if he really felt all these emotions or if he was just so good to express them through his body. He wanted to know what it meant, what that pain was and how he overcame it. God he had so many questions.
After Jimins solo there were two other performances before the showcase was over. The man and woman from the beginning appeared again, talked a bit over the dancers but Jungkook didn’t really listen. He was overwhelmed and he finally understood what Jimin meant when he said ballet and boxing where somewhat alike. He wanted to see him so bad and when Tae tipped his shoulder next to him and signed him to follow, Jungkook quickly grabbed the flowers and did so.
“It’s better if we go now before all the other dancers get visitors as well.” He explained. Jungkook just nodded, his brain still tried to process everything he saw and learned today.
“And? How did you like it?” Tae asked but luckily he didn’t have to answer because honestly he had no idea how. Jungkook didn’t know any words that would explain what he felt this evening. Shortly after Taes question they heard a high pitched squeal and turned around in unison, just in time to see a mop of pink hair racing towards them.
Jungkook was glad for his good reflexes because before he could really react Jimin crashed into him. His short arms wrapped around Jungkooks neck and Jungkook used the impact of Jimins jump to swirl him around through the air. The boy giggled and it was music in Jungkooks ears. Jimin was still in the outfit of his last performance, a very tight shorts and loose blouse with long sleeves that exposed his chest.
“Ah, sorry. I’m all sweaty and gross.” The dancer said and tried to pull away but Jungkook tightened his grip instead.
“Shut up, as if I would care.” Jungkook mumbled and pressed their cheeks together. Jimin seemed a bit surprised at that but eventually hugged him back again, letting out a soft hum. Jungkook didn’t plan on letting him go anytime soon but Tae cleared his throat next to them.
“Yeah it’s totally fine just ignore me. Enjoy your little moment.” He scoffed. Jimin giggled and wriggled out of Jungkooks arms. The younger had to suppress a protesting growl.
“Don’t be petty Tae. You already saw me perform a thousand times.” Jimin said but hugged his best friend too.
“Thank you both for coming!”
“Don’t thank us. I think your Jungkookie here had something like a revelation while you were on stage.” Tae said and pointed at him with his thumb. Jimin blushed a little but raised his eyebrows questioningly at him.
“Oh… I uhm… it, it was really good. Like amazing, you were so uhm…” Jungkook stumbled suddenly at a loss of words.
“Thank you.” Jimin giggled before a small frown appeared on his stage.
“It wasn’t perfect though. I made a few mistakes, I hope no one noticed.” The dancer mumbled, more to himself than his friends. Tae flicked his forehead.
“Shut up silly! I bet not even your teacher noticed, you are literally the most critical person on this planet.” His best friend said.
“Are you sure?” Jimin asked and Tae leaned in to whisper something into his ear with a smirk. Jimins eyes widened, before he blushed again and his gaze flicked over to Jungkook. The boxer wondered what Tae has told him and made a mental note to ask Jimin later, they have planned for Jungkook to sleep over at Jimins tonight so they would have plenty of time.
“Okay give me a second. I’ll go change real quick and say goodbye to the others than we can go.”
“Actually Chims would you mind if I go first? I wanted to meet up with my brother after this.” Tae said. Jimin looked from his best friend to Jungkook and back.
“Already?” He asked voice a little dull.
“Sorry, but you have Jungkook right? We’ll see each other on Monday.” Tae said and hugged the dancer.
“Okay, thank you for coming. Bye Tae. Tell Jinnie hyung I said hi.” He said before rushing off. Tae turned towards Jungkook who lifted a brow.
“You owe me one!” He said and bro hugged him too.
“And you better take good care of him tonight. Jimin is always the most self-conscious after a performance. Especially if he believes he made mistakes.” Jungkook nodded.
“Don’t worry about that, I’ll make him feel good.” He said. Okay, maybe he formed this sentence a little unfortunate.
“Gross dude, I don’t wanna know about that.” Tae grinned. Jungkook pushed his shoulder and made the older laugh.
“Anyway, I’ll go now. See ya around.” Jungkook nodded and watched how Tae left the backstage area. Suddenly he felt a little nervous again. He looked down at the flowers in his hand and felt a little stupid. Maybe they were too much after all? What if Jimin will think it’s super cringy? He didn’t really have the chance to think about that too much though, because Jimin approached him again. Now dressed in black leggins and a dark blue hoodie that was a little too big.
“Okay, I’m read-“ Jimin stopped midsentence when his eyes landed on the flowers. They both blushed and avoided the others gaze until Jungkook mentally slapped himself to get his shit together.
“I uhm… th-they are for you uhm… I don’t know is it too much?” He stumbled and handed the flowers over. Jimin stared at them with wide eyes and pink ears.
“This… I never got flowers before.” He admitted in a whisper and accepted them, taking them with both hands as if they were delicate and would brake if he was too forceful.
“It’s not too much, I love them.” He finally said with a smile and sniffed on the blossoms. “Thank you so much, Kookie.” They beamed at each other for a few seconds before Jungkook reached out and took one of Jimins hands, intertwining their fingers and leading him out.
The night was cold and Jimin was still sweaty so they quickly made their way to his apartment. Jimin put the flowers in a vase and excused himself for a quick shower. Jungkook waited in the living room. He sat on the couch, legs spread and head laying on the backrest with his eyes closed. He relived the impressions from this evening and maybe he was too lost in thought, or maybe he just dosed of a bit but he didn’t notice how Jimin came out of the bathroom. The dancer made his way over to him on silent feet and startled Jungkook when he sat down in his lap, straddling him.
Jungkooks eyes flew open and his hands found their way to Jimins hips while he looked at him. For a moment they just stared at each other before Jimin leaned forward and placed his head in the crook of the boxers neck. He snuggled up against his chest and inhaled his scent. Jungkook felt his still wet hair tickling his skin and could smell the orange and peppermint that was Jimins shower gel.
Jungkook let his head fall back again and wrapped his arms fully around Jimin. Ah he could totally get used to this.
“You were really amazing today.” He said in a low voice after a while. Jimin moved a bit in his arms but didn’t pull back or say anything.
“I don’t know much about dancing but I think I could feel it, feel you. Your solo was painful. I even choked in the beginning.”
“Really?” Jimin whispered against his neck. Jungkook hummed.
“Yeah. Did you choreograph it your own? What was it about?” Jungkook asked. Jimin wrapped his arms around Jungkooks middle and made himself more comfortable, melting against the youngers chest.
“What do you think?” He asked instead of an answer and Jungkook had to think about it.
“I felt like you learned to live with whatever pain you were going through. Like… understanding yourself better? And like moving on?” He tried to explain. It was hard to find the right words for something that was expressed without any speech.
“You understood that?”
“So I was right?”
“I mean usually I don’t like to explain what my thoughts were about a certain choreography. I want everyone to interpret it on their own, based on their own experiences. You know, that makes it more personal.” Jimin explained. Jungkook thought it made sense. Like that it could touch everyone in a unique way, make them feel addressed personally.
“But what is your own interpretation of it? What did you want to feel while dancing?” Jungkook asked curiously.
“I choreographed it with the theme of self-love in mind. Like, learning to accept your flaws and being happy with who you are.” Jimin admitted. “I think it was a bit like therapy.” Jungkook tightened his hug.
“Did it help?” He wanted to know. Jimin was silent for a few moments.
“I don’t know. Maybe? It’s not like I suddenly feel different but… I guess I don’t beat myself up over my mistakes as much as I used to.” Jungkook smiled.
“That’s good. I, for one, didn’t notice any mistakes. And I saw quite a few people wiping away their tears while your duet.” Jimin pulled back at that to smirk at him.
“Including you?”
“I… wait! Was that was Tae whispered into you ear earlier?” He wanted to know.
“Maybe?” Jimin giggled.
“Just for the record. If, and I’m not confirming anything, if I really did cry a bit, than it would have been while your solo, not the duet.” He said and Jimin giggled again. Jungkook smiled at the sound. He always felt proud when he was able to elicit that sound from the older.
He unwrapped one hand from around the dancer in his lap in order to brush the bangs out of his eyes, curly from having dried in the air.
“Jimin” He said and the other hummed, leaning into his touch when he cupped his cheek.
“I want to ask you something.” He said.
“Spill it.” Jimin mumbled, having a hand now sprawled out on his chest, small fingers feeling his muscles through his shirt.
“Will you be my boyfriend?” Jimin stopped the moving of his fingers and looked up to him. Jungkook could feel how Jimin studied his gaze, searching in his eyes for any hint of lie, joke or uncertainty. The boxer let him, allowed the older to pierce through his soul and when Jimin felt his sincerity he smiled brightly and pecked his lips, wrapping his arms around his neck with another giggle.
“Of course!” Jungkook felt his heart bloom with happiness and he couldn’t help but laugh and hug Jimin as tightly as he could.
“Kookie, you are crushing me!” Jimin laughed.
“Ah, sorry.” He said sheepishly and let him go. Jimin kissed his cheek.
“Don’t apologize.” Jungkook chased his lips when the dancer tried to pull away and brought a hand up to his neck. Jimin sighed against his lips, going pliant and allowing Jungkook to push his tongue through Jimins lips.
This kiss was different to all the ones they shared before. With the certainty they had now and the reassurance of officially being together it was like every bit of restraint that was there before finally melted away. They became more demanding, more greedy, deepening the kiss more and more, pushing their bodies together as close as possible.
When Jimin started to grind against him Jungkook placed his hands under the dancers trained thighs and stood up with him in his arms. He carried him to the bedroom and carefully set him down on the mattress.
When he woke up on that same mattress the next morning, with a naked Jimin curled up into his side it felt like a new start. Sure, they woke up next to each other before (though always dressed) but the first times it was never clear what they were. More than friends but not boyfriends yet. Until now.
“Boyfriend.” Jungkook rasped out with a smile, just to see how that word felt on his tongue. He turned to his side and hugged Jimin against his chest, their legs tangled and Jungkooks cheek pressed onto Jimins messy hair.
Oh yeah, he could totally get used to this. Fortunately, he would have plenty of time to do so from now on.

This track is probably my favorite song by them (or Harem Scarem) The dynamic Volume, the rising power, the smooth guitar work Layed down perfectly by Jan Akkerman. Tis beautiful.
