She got a really nice HEELING when using FOOD REWARDS but everything FELL APART when i started using a TOY. Now I'm stuck with doing all this DRILLS to keep her from FORGING. Does anybody have other DRILLS to fix this PROBLEM? I'm all ears...
Focused heeling with Batman this morning. I hold the ball down on the other side of his head because it feels more natural to have my arms down (even though it might not look natural). Goal is for the dog to stay focused on the side of my face until I say "YES" and he gets the ball. The lefts turns are tricky because they require the dog to back up a little. For these, I still need to lure him with the ball up high (armpit or front of shoulder) to keep him focused. Positioning is critical. Make sure your arm doesn't block his view. I call it the "chicken wing." I look insane.
