Did you expect any different? This family is what keeps me sane. Aaron, Alan, Tino and Phil; all of them help me through thick and thin. I won't pick favorites because each of these guys mean the world to me. Does that sound homo? Ha, oh well. Now, they don't always know what's going through my head or the reasoning behind my mood but they're there as support if I need it. Just having them around is more than I could ask for. The understanding of someone being your life jacket or brick wall is enough. Just the thought that someone cares; that you can fall back onto someone. It's awesome. Hanging out, talking, doing stupid shit; it all helps. Any time I get with these guys ends up being enjoyable; it's always a new adventure. Hell, we all go out to lunch way toooooo much. That right there is a huge stress reliever. 

(Okay, maybe I will pick favorites a little) Lucky for me, I get to see Alan and Aaron more often. The ginger actually lives close by home so we end up hanging out quite a lot. Ashby isn't just a guitarist, he's a close friend; I think that is well known. Him and I will do anything together. He's a total goofball but the kid is fucking hilarious. Without him, I would spend too much wasted time being upset. Alan helps put that smile on my face through his uniqueness. Yes, u-n-i-q-u-e; you're never going to find a crazy guy like him, I promise. But I adore him, he's my princess. We have too many hectic memories and somehow they keep adding up. We're always doing something insane and I'm definitely not complaining about that. How him and I connect is beyond belief. Career-wise, Alan is always pumped about the music and I think that helps loads. Just seeing his anxiousness helps me; it helps the whole band. We all think it's because he's still the 'youngster' of the crew. <3

But without the help from each other, the music wouldn't be getting anywhere. Everyone motivates each other and that's what it's all about. I know these guys have my back through anything and I know I can turn to them if I ever need too. I'm thankful for them being able to make me laugh.

FODtask X; I will never let you fall.

Journal entry. 

You know, I just fell for Ricky all over again. Like, the feeling is back. Not that it went, it just feels new. I realised that my nightmares are all gone - touch wood. I don't know, he's just helped out so much since we got together. I didn't expect to end up like this, really. I didn't expect to get engaged to him. But, I'm happy that I did. I feel so safe now.

I only decided to start talking to him about more than work during the accident because everyone but him seemed to be in their own little cliques. We went away to our own little space and it just kinda... moved on from there. He kissed me, I liked it, we cuddled. He asked me out... He proposed after some time. He's perfect.

Luckily, he's friends with my friends and they all like him too. It's pretty awesome. We all get to go out as a little group. I don't know, I'm just rambling now. 

I just fucking love him to pieces.

Dear Jenna || FodTask

I'm not really sure how to start this. I didn't take it well the first time someone told me I probably wouldn't live passed the age of 35. But I would hope that I know myself well enough that I can at least do it in a better way then the doctor's did it when I was a teenager. But then again, I'm not sure anyone would be able to take that kind of news well, no matter who the one passing it to you is. I guess we didn't react all that badly. I mean, we were depressed there for a while, realizing that we would never be able to do all the things that we planned to do in life. Probably wouldn't get married. Definitely don't want to have kids risking that we would pass on the same disease. You don't even know how to deal with it yourself, much less how to live knowing your kid is probably going to have the same problem.

But at the same time...things didn't turn out all that bad. You did join a band, and a pretty fucking good one. You would travel, see things, and meet people that you never thought possible. You would become one of the people that you idolized, and despite the circumstances, it's pretty fucking great. You won't end up regretting it. At least not yet. I'm not gonna lie to you, a lot of days really suck. Sometimes you can't talk at all, while others it hurts just to simply breath. You're lucky if you get a couple hours of sleep a night, especially while on tour. And sometimes, it even hurts to sing. But looking down at the faces that are looking up at you, and seeing the smiling faces of your bandmates makes it all worth it. You're giving people hope, just like our heroes did for us. And that's all we ever really wanted right...?

So you're going to die. Sooner rather than later. And it sucks. But you get pretty good and making sure every moment counts. So take your time those first few weeks, just like I did. Cry your eyes out. Get pissed....destroy a few pillows. Throw a couple picture frames. Get it out while you can. Because you don't want to miss what comes next. We can't change it, so we gotta learn to live with it. It sucks but, you're a fighter. Even if you don't know it yet.

Dear Jessie || FodTask

First of all, it's kind of weird writing a letter to my past self, but my therapist thought it might be a good idea. So, here we go...

I guess the first thing I should tell you is not to worry, because things will eventually get better. I know it doesn't seem that way, that you feel like you're trapped. That there's no way out. But believe me when I say that you are going to have a place on the beach just like you always dreamed. Of course, it would take a while, and you went through quite a bit of some crazy shit to be able to get it. But you do. And you would never regret the things that happened in the past that will lead you to that future. Your life doesn't turn out quite like how you imagined. You end up achieving some of your childhood dreams through an odd road. But you won't regret it. I promise you.

For now, just keep your head down and trudge through. You're going to make it. You're going to get away from them, and they will never bother you again. Those first few years will be tough. You're going to make a decision that will lead you to a world you thought you'd never find yourself in. But don't worry. It will all turn out okay. It will turn out as just the first step to the place you really want to be. The thing I should prepare you for is that although you achieve some great things professionally, your personal life tends to be in shambles most of the time. I guess we can't win at everything. You have some pretty great friends though. Ones that you can really count on. So like I said...don't worry, things turn out pretty good for you, considering where you started from.

Just remember to keep your head up. You're not gonna want to miss any of this. It's quite a ride.

you're on the right path. As crazy as that may sound, you're doing great. You will continue to rise. All that hard work is going to benefit you. You might want to give up now, but keep your head up. Keep that smile on your face and keep being a leader. It's not easy, it's not going to be, but you will be better off in the end. 

People are going to walk out of your life like it's nothing. It's going to piss you off and make you get angry at yourself. You're literally going to fool yourself into believing you're the bad guy. All those built up emotions will be the cause of your downfall if you keep adding to the collection. There will be a point where you need to stop doubting yourself. The limits you have in life don't mean shit, you can accomplish anything. The great people you come across will only inspire you. Anyone: fans, friends, strangers; keep giving them chances because they will help. Keep finding motivations in the slightest things because it will only intensify the determination. 

Lots of shit is going to go down. Foolish mistakes, discoveries, regrets, new experiences; you're still taking life day by day. Appreciate it as much as possible, enjoy the tiniest of things. Find beauty in the unseen. Spread happiness and love. I know that sounds cliche, annoying. bitchy and stupid but you're going to see how it impacts others. In some eyes you will be a hero for it. Don't ever stop showing someone how much they mean to you. Keep positive and be grateful for everything that happens to you; remember life can never put you more than you can handle. 

Of course you're going to go through horrible times. Emotionally, physically, etc. Depression, anger, jealousy, disgust, fear; it's all going to happen. You won't expect most of it but I'm here to tell you that you can make it through it. You will make it through. Just keep a clear mind and you can do it. You don't need any step by step procedures; just stay smart in the mind. You have so much to look forward to and many surprises. 

It always gets better.

DEAR FETUS ANDY-

I am sorry, but I am about to break your heart...

It's is 2013.

And the Detroit Redwings did not make it to the Stanley Cup.  They didn't even make it to the final round.  Dave cried a little bit about it even (remember to Vine that (You'll understand what vine is eventually.)) They have only won 4 years; I know, life is hard, but we can get through this and bring the cup home next season. I have faith in us.

Now that the heartbreak is over, I think the best thing to give you for the future is hope.  Even when things are looking down, keep you're head up and keep striving for better.  When things are looking up, look higher and prove your worth.

Instead of telling you about yourself and where you are going and what you will accomplish, I'm going to tell you about others in your life and the moments that they are going to need you.  Then you can be prepared and strong for them, to hold them tight and get through it, but the good news is- everyone gets out alive. Be a strong tree for others to climb.

Kyle is going to get a dermal piercing.  It's going to glitter and sparkle like the sun.  Girls will want to lick it.  It's going to take a long time, but eventually, you will convince him to take it out.  There's not something I can think of at the moment that you need to be there for Kyle, but he's your other dumbass.  I should probably kick his ass to be an idiot with me more often lately, but that's my fault.  I'm avoiding him and I know it. Right now he's doing something I can't and it makes my entire chest tighten like I can't breathe sometimes when he talks about it, but I have to get over it and be there for him instead.  I guess this was more a message to present andy than future andy, but don't forget it either.

Joshua is going to get really sick one day.  He's going to be hospitalized to the point that the doctor's aren't positive he is going to live.  I know it's fucking scary and it's okay to cry.  No one's going to judge you for crying for your best friend.  Think of tears as a way to get out the despair and negative thoughts.  I know even if I tell you now he makes it through and he's perfectly fine, you're never going to leave his bedside and lie about being his brother to stay through the night.  Yeah, you never stop being stubborn, sorry.

And then there is Duke.  His mom is going to pass and it's going to be the hardest thing any of us have gone through since she was basically a mom to us all.  The thing is, Lou's going to try to be the strong one.  He's going to refuse to cry and not let anyone see he's hurting.  I think if you can convince him that it's okay to grieve, then the other hard things that follow won't happen and life wouldn't feel like such a mess between us right now.  I know he's a fucking stubborn asshole, but then again so are you, at least to other people. This simple fact could change everything between what we are now, but I think it's worth it because I think he'd be happy.  We'll still be Duke & Butt even if we aren't something more and his happiness is worth the real heartbreak. Cause that's what you want for someone you love- for them to be happy no matter the cost to your own heart.

Anyways, I think that's enough for now.  I dropped some big bombs there. Not even the biggest bomb that will hit you hard, but he gets his own letters. Keep your head up and have hope Buttjaw; you're stronger than you think you are.

Dear Jaime,

Cut. The. Hair. The afro looks so fucking weird. You're never going to get chicks with it, I don't care how cool you think it looks. You'll thank me later. Putting the trumpet down for the bass was a pretty good idea too. You've got all these kids screaming your name every night. You've changed lives, Jaime. 

I'm not gonna say it's smooth sailing to get to where we are now. No, you're going to go through a lot of shit that I could smack you for. You're going to be scared, lonely, and fear being a loner for your life. Some assholes are gonna come around and offer you what seems like a brilliant idea, and you're going to be stupid enough to accept.

There's a little bit of blood on your hands now. But it's okay. Convince yourself you did the community a favor and it'll get easier to live with every day. The looks you get around town will slowly die out. That's not all. You're going to meet the most beautiful girl you've ever seen in your life and fall in love.

Things are going to go well for about a year before turning sour. She'll tear your heart and stomp it out. You're gonna be depressed, you're going to turn to alcohol. You're going to lie about being straight edge. You're going to get over it. You're going to forgive her and be friends with her.

Things aren't exactly great yet. You still feel like that lonely little kid you were in high school. But you've got the best friends you could hope for and the best job in the world. So just breathe. You can do this.

P.S, the afro, man. Really. Ask mom how to straighten your hair.
