At Farnborough International Airshow 2012, a Boeing 787 'Dreamliner' shows a high-G curve with fog formation due to expansion cooling in the negative pressure zone above the wings. Unfortunately, airliners don't usually perform such maneuvers.

Fog formation through expansion cooling shows the wake turbulences of windmills.

They would have a higher efficiency if they were placed laterally offset. In this way, the third in line only has half the power.
