Dagurreotype

to make a dagurreotype effect on Photoshop i first opened up a portrait that i took.

the image was in colour but in order to create the effect i wanted i had to change it to black and white

once i had my image in black and white i then took  textured screen a pasted it over my image and stretched it to cover the full image 

then to have them blend nicely i used vivid lighting to blend the two images together to create the effect i was looking for 

and here are the end results
