portfolio pop art images (studio shot)
for one of my portfolio images I decided to go with a pop art style of photograph to mix my love for art and photography together.
I first of all opened my image in photoshop and selected all around my model using the quick selection tool.
I then made that into a new layer and called it my threshold layer. this is my main layer though out making this image.
I then clicked on my layer called background and selected solid colour. this takes away the background and you can block in any colour you want I this case I choose purple.
now that my background has been removed I then clicked back onto the threshold layer and went up the the image pannel then selected adjustments then threshold
this is what my image looks like so far.
then to be able to block in the colours I wanted for each part of my image I had to make a layer for each part. I clicked on the threshold layer then used the quick selection tool to select the part of the image I want then I named that layer so I could keep track of every layer that I have made.
these are all my layers for this image.
finally I can start adding the colours. I held in cmd and alt and then selected solid colour again. for this layer you have to tick the box that says use previous layer to create clipping mask or else it all select all areas rather than the area you want. I learned that the hard way
this is what happened once I choose the colour I wanted, however I wanted to black to show through as well as the orange so to fix this I clicked the layers panel and selected multiply.
I continued the same pattern till I got my final result I was satisfied with
then for final touches I used the pint brush tool to add in shadows I created to the face.
I then done the same routine for my other images and put them together to make the final image I wanted to create
