So I've gotten some messages (some of them hella rude) about how I got so popular and how to get followers and make friends on here. So here's some tips from me. -Getting followers - Organize your profile • have a profile picture. Those stupid shapes with eyes make people not want to follow you. • make your theme stand out. Is it funny, is it cool? Whatever it is, make it interesting! • I recommend setting a gif as your background • I also recommend activating your ask box. It makes you look more professional • your description is important too. Don't make it too long, bc that makes you look like a noob. Try to keep it as short as possible. • having a kickass url is key (I obviously don't set a good example my url sucks). It gets them interested in you in the first place. - Getting notes on posts • USE THOSE TAGS. Just make sure they're relevant to your post. In about an hour or two, you'll have notes rolling in. **- no one else can see how many followers you have, so make your account look like you're a popular blog worth following! ~ Making friends • tag your followers in challenges! Since you'll be communicating, soon you'll have each other's url's memorized. • what's your personality? Are you witty, punny, emotional, angry? Personality plays a huge roll in making friends. Remember to BE YOURSELF THOUGH. • what followers do you share interests with? Just start a conversation and they'll be sure to reply back Okay I think this is everything

Anon asked me about 2 weeks ago what's the best way to gain followers and friends at the same time. So I thought I'd make an update to my answer for those who missed it and really want to know how to gain followers and friends here. -Gaining followers- •usually, if you follow someone first, they'll look at your account and decide whether or not to follow back. If you want a follow, make sure to: 1. Not have an empty blog. You don't want to look like a noob. You should have a title (make it interesting), a cool profile picture, and an awesome background (it's better to use a gif for your background). 2. A kickass url is also key (although I don't set a good example haha). You want something that immediately catches the eyes of other bloggers. 3. Make your theme evident. This is important. Someone may follow you because you post about Percy Jackson; but if you all of a sudden switch to a music theme, you could lose followers. Make sure your followers know exactly what to expect from your blog just by looking at your profile. Also, if you plan to switch themes, let them know. • also, it's okay to use tags on your posts. Just make sure they're relevant to what you're posting about; and you might get a few followers out of the deal. Important: NO ONE ELSE CAN SEE HOW MANY FOLLOWERS YOU HAVE, so spruce your blog up; and fake it till you make it. -making friends- • it's pretty easy to make friends here on this beautiful website. But here's a few tips: 1. Try starting conversations with your mutuals. It could be tagging them in things you think they'd like, or even sending them a quick message. 2. Have a personality. Most people on here appreciate someone who is witty, insightful, and caring. 3. Let your followers know you are here for them. I cannot stress how important it is to let your followers know that if they ever need a vent buddy or some cheering up, they can go to you. And if you tell them that, please do not ever make them feel like they're being annoying. 4. Once you get a good amount of followers (like 500+), start doing contests. If you haven't figured out by now, I do iTunes giveaways about every 2 weeks or so. It helps me keep my followers and gain at the same time. Now, you don't have to go out buying iTunes cards, but you can still do little contests with simple prizes like shout outs. Your followers will feel closer to you.
