I HAVE SO MUCH SUPPORT AND SO MANY PEOPLE HELPING AND ENCOURAGING ME AND IT’S GONNA BE GOOD
let me tell you the basics
so they’re gonna have a few options to start in the city and either they end up at a bar or just wandering the streets
if they go to the bar the bartender mentions a missing party, a haunted house, a ghostly sighting inside a couple of times, mention of hidden loot (on their way they might encounter option 2 anyway giving them some choice)
the way i’m hoping they go is wandering the streets where they find a cleric laying on the steps of the temple, they’re muttering to themselves and the party will talk to them where they end up with a map and directions to this (almost literal) ghost town, long abandoned and kind of decrepit.
the house will involve traps and monsters (zombs and skeletons leading up to a minor big challenge for them to face) the town involves traveling there encounters on the way and then in the town there’s some abandoned buildings and like no people
there’s a castle where there’s the only person they find in the town, it’s a ghost hijacking an npcs body (ghost was member of the missing party), the npc joins the group, claims to know what’s bringing all this undead back, the go back to the city hopefully to the house for the first time, if not the first time it’ll be the second.
they’ll find who they think is the big bad, another member of missing party, who is just trying to find a way to bring their love back from the dead (or more accurately make her not a banshee anymore) because he made a deal with a genie who did what genies do (it’s probably a genie at least, i’m not sure)
BUT EVENTUALLY it turns out that the ghostnpc was the one that talked them into making that deal because they’re working for Big Bad 2 (the reason that the town was planeshifted away!) (a dragon or vampire or something) and that a banshee was needed for bringing the town back and that’s what ghostnpc has been working though the party might not know this at this point
they’ll either help the ghost complete the ritual without knowing or do it accidentally on their own and then that’ll be the next arc
but there’s a fake out on the bad guy and an ally turns against them and people doing things to try and help someone they love and it’ll be good
