"Hello?" the young girl called into the aisle, no one was around. In fact she was the only person in the entire shop, which seemed a little peculiar given the 'Open' sign printed on the front door. A sigh escaped Gwen's lips. She did not understand why she'd come here, when she knew she ought to be getting to work, but something deep inside Gwen's body compelled her to miss the train and instead delve into the random book shop she'd happened across. The same thing, most likely, that told her to stay and look around while the more logical part of her brain said it was time to go. Guinevere loved books, she always had, but since the dreams began she'd been searching for a specific book, one that might help her figure out what the large white castle and cloaks of gold and red meant. She brushed her fingers along the spines of a shelf lettered from F-to-I and gradually walked the distance between the door and the desk.
"Is there anyone here?" she called loudly. There was no one to be found and Guinevere only ceased her walking when her body was less than a few inches from the counter. "I guess I''m mean to serve myself ... oh, what's the point?" she added in a quiet voice, one meant entirely for herself.
