Loki made an exaggerated gasp.
"Not Captain America. The sad flatus of patriotic horns to haunt your every wrongdoing."
He sauntered closer to Stark and his workspace, not that he was actually there. Tony's security didn't permit his physical presence.
"What does VIP status involve? A remote control to your weaponised corpse?"
The god grinned playfully, ever keen to humour the macabre, even if the reality would draw out of him an entirely different response.

“What? I’m keeping you on your toes. What if I was a Hydra agent?” He pointed two fingers at his own eyes, then Tony’s in a ‘watching you’ gesture. “Training you.” Really, he’d already been hanging out in the vents when JARVIS started talking, and Clint found it funny to quite literally drop in and watch Tony jump. Sharp eyes only managed to gather a bit of information off of the holo panels before Tony waved them away, most of it too technical for Clint to make much sense of. Overall, not enough information for him to come up with an answer on his own. “You’re avoiding the question.” He crossed his arms, raised a brow. Look at him, putting on his serious face. “What’s the Avalon Protocol, Tony?”
This was a nightmare. After being delivered from another nightmare. So certain that he was going to be horribly killed, it was surprise followed by surprise to witness the mindflayer ship attacked by outside forces and for his pod to land unscathed in a bush. He had fully expected to have to bolt for cover once he had broken out but the Sun didn't so much as singe him.
That happy discovery aside, he was still stranded gods knew where, his true escape blocked by the enormous crashed ship, and with a mindflayer tadpole wiggling around in his brain.
Before he could so much as get his bearings or seek out any other survivors, there was an ugly screech behind him. Five intellect devourers, or as he knew them 'brains on feet', pounced on him, intent on murdering him for the loss of their masters. As if it were specifically his fault!
"Agh! Get off me, you detestable little vermin!"
A firebolt shrivelled one to ash, but the rest soon showed how much more powerful they were than mere vermin. Their next two swipes knocked him bloodied to the ground.

It's not as surprising as it should be. Really, Frank's more impressed that the surprises that are left throughout his safe house miraculously never triggered. Wouldn't be much of a house left at all if they had. There's not a lot of people skilled enough to make it even a step into this place— much less traverse the place like they own it.
Duffel bag placed down. Eyes narrowing. No, seeing Stark here wasn't surprising. Not when he had used something that used to belong to one of the METAL LONG-JOHNS in a recent mission of his. Can't imagine that'd put him on the billionaire's nice list. Not like he'd give a shit. This guy's just some wallowing asshole. Still... Frank remains cautious. "You break into everyone's place like this, or am I just special?"

"I can't help but oogle you. I mean, you're a work of art and people say that about me but I'm really just made special because of chemicals. Most wouldn't look at scrawny Steve."
So... with or without the horns? I need to know for, um. Science.
@what-the-stark
"without. much the same way i prefer you in regards to your vocal chords."
touch prompts - after a tough day
The gala had been meant to be a fun event to support a charity Tony had partnered with for years now (Loki had been informed that it was for some sort of philanthropic pursuit). Loki had gone to a few of these events now and his tolerance for engaging with large groups of people had grown. But the large gathering of people weren't the problem today. The problem was that one of Tony's adversaries had thought that today of all days was the perfect day to cause some chaos. The man had gone about smashing decorations and threatening attendees alike, effectively holding the crowd hostage.
While the man had been monologuing on-and-on to Tony and the crowd about some perceived misdeed, Loki had taken the chance to quietly grab a large serving tray and sneak up behind the intruder. With as much force as he could muster, he swung the tray at the man's head, the resulting sound echoing through the event center. The tray had bent almost to the shape of the man's face, but it still hadn't knocked him down or out. It only served as a distraction (hopefully for Tony or someone to be able to call on one of his suits or do something) and soon enough, this giant of a man had turned around to face Loki. A dangerous snarl curled the man's lip and Loki's eyes went wide. He only had a moment to duck out of the way as the attacker made an attempt to return the favor.
He had managed to evade the man's attacks, the crowd parting like the Red Sea around them as Loki side-stepped and back-pedaled to avoid being hit. It felt like an eternity had passed before the attacker was subdued and restrained, Loki's heart still beating wild and frenzied by the time he was able to take a breath to soothe himself.
It had been about half an hour since the gala had been shut down and the assailant had been escorted off the premises. Loki had been holding it together as well as he could through all the legal and safety proceedings. However, he was desperately seeking the moment he could get out of all of it and have a moment to himself. He hadn't had the time to check in with Tony since all of this started. Loki was left wondering what all had gone down since he'd last seen Tony. He'd been pacing alone in an empty room, eyes flitting back and forth as he thought over all that had happened.
He hadn't even heard the door open, unaware that Tony had entered the room. He only felt his boss's hand gently resting on his shoulder which served to jolt him out of his thoughts and provide him a moment of stability. "Mr. Stark... I-" Loki didn't actually know what he wanted to say. Instead, he settled into what was familiar, protect and serve Tony. "Are you alright? The authorities took my statement about the incident, but I was hoping to get a moment to see how you were doing. I'm sorry I couldn't find you sooner."
