Day 7: 47 miles to Fort Bragg. Along the way we put the ring in touring and the one in highway 1! If you can't tell, we're pretty excited #followingthe1 #followingtheONE #getit #returnofthebeard

Day 7: 47 miles to Fort Bragg. Along the way we put the ring in touring and the one in highway 1! If you can't tell, we're pretty excited #followingthe1 #followingtheONE #getit #returnofthebeard
Day 6: 23 miles to Standish-Hickey campground. Another slow roll day, which included more awesome trees, small town bus stops, a killer swimming hole along the Eel River, and the best salmon burger of our lives (we ordered seconds) #followingthe1
Day 5: 18 miles to Garberville. Like life, bike tours never turn out the way you expect; Adam woke up to a swollen foot, re-aggravated from all of our awesome off-bike hikes. So we are slowing our roll to about 20 miles a day and taking our time through the redwoods and small towns. Today involved strolls through thrift stores and witnessing a Reggae festival shut down power for the whole town. #followingthe1 #californiacoasting
Day 4: 22 miles before we threw in the towel due to a 109 degree heat wave. We did have time to stop for an obligatory we-are-in-a-redwood photo #followingthe1
Day 3: 41 miles to Stafford and remembering how to eat for a bike tour. Today lunch was a double bacon cheeseburger, large garlic fries, and coffee chocolate milkshake (each). And then we stopped for pie ... #followingthe1 #badvegetarian
Day 2: 50 miles to Eureka! (exclamation added for my benefit). Endless country roads, dairy cows, and coastal vistas; and fewer ice cream stops than we would have liked #followingthe1
Day 0: Things are happening! Biking down the CA coast from Crescent City to San Francisco, following highway 1 #followingthe1 #touringwithtory
Day 1: 30 mile ride + 10 mile hike. We set off from Del Norte state park (pronounced "Del Nort" as corrected by the nice diner waitress located next to a pen of Emu), rode/hiked through amazing towering redwoods, and ended in the aptly named Elk Prairie campground #followingthe1
