So a few artistic liberties were taken, but here's my Halloween costume! My stepdaughter wanted to be Eevee, so I'm dressing up as a Pokemon Go trainer. If I have time after finishing Eevee, I'll paint a Pokeball symbol on the hat and maybe stitch some athletic stripes onto the sleeves of the hoodie. I'm also borrowing a Pokeball to complete the effect
Also, my shoes for my Maria Renard cosplay arrived, and they are the SHINIEST SHOES IN THE WORLD.
So I *might* have just found clearance shoes for my Maria cosplay. Add a buckle and I'm all set! (The concept art makes them look like the same brocade as her sash, but that's beyond my skill level. Also, lower heel because of my bad feet). So yeah, this is definitely happening at some point next year. MCC Castlevania group, maybe?
I have a bodysuit! Test without wig and makeup, just to make sure everything fits.
Now I just need to make the gauntlets and finish straightening my wig. So close!
Black Widow wig is done! Left is how it came from Arda, middle is after dye and styling, and far right is the look I was going for. The color difference is kind of subtle, but I'm much happier with the deeper red. It's more noticeable in sunlight.
My Black Widow gauntlets are so shiny! First time using Liquid Leaf and I'm very happy with the results.
Omg! For once, I managed to sew a zipper without screwing it up! The main part of Nat's bodysuit fits perfectly and I'm so happy! Just need to add sleeves and legs. This was supposed to be my mock-up but I'm loving this fabric so much that I'll probably just wear it to GenCon and make the fancy hex-patterned version later.
The Natasha costume is coming along
Ugh, I’m so sloooow at hand-sewing. Just gotta finish basting in this zipper then it’s in to the scariest part… Sewing the zipper.
Historically, I’ve had an acrimonious relationship with zippers but It’s always just let them look a bit wonky since they’re hidden in the back.
Black Widow’s bodysuit zipper is right up the front with nowhere to hide bad seams… Wish me luck!
