Jolyne Cujoh
- it's not the first time she's come across a semi-human being much like yourself.
- still, it's not something that can be ignored so easily.
- you guys hang out a lot by the shore, the beaches of florida filled with people having a good time.
- but none of them knew your little secret. nobody really paid that much attention. not the extent like jolyne.
- she loves being in her bikini, sitting close to the water where you like to be at most of the time. its where you thrive.
- "it's too damn hot outside." you heard her complain, shielding the sun from her eyes with her arm.
- "just get in the water with me." you laughed, splashing around and she contemplated for a moment.
- "alright, fine. but i'm not the best swimmer." she exclaimed a little shyly before stepping into the water.
- you submerged under the water, staying there for a good moment as an idea popped into your head. you made your way over to her, her voice sounding muffled under the weather.
- but you can hear her well. she was calling for you.
- "where the hell did you- .. shit!" she gasped when you wrapped your arms around her legs and pulled her down in the water. you couldn't contain the laugh bubbling in your chest at her scared expression.
- she swam up, head poking out of the weather as she stared at you with furrowed brows and a noticeable pout. "you're such an asshole!"
- "aww, i was only joking." you poked your head out from the water as well. "hey, you can't even guess how long i was underwater."
- "you breathe in water, i can only imagine." she rolled her eyes but allowed you to nuzzle your face into her cheek.
Ermes Costello
- she can't lie and say she wasn't at least a little freaked out by your characteristics. especially scales and tail.
- but she was quick to trust you. she made you laugh and you did the same.
- but part of her was still slightly wary. not because she's scared of you but she does worry for you at times.
- "does it hurt..?" she hesitates to touch them, even after you insisted for her to get a feel. simply out of curiousity.
- "no, it's like having a nose. does that hurt you?" you teased. she'd roll her eyes and shake her head, bringing her knees up to her chest as the gust of the cold air hit her bare skin.
- "you knew what i meant!" she playfully slapped your hand away from poking at her sides. "how's life been, anyways? i haven't seen you in a while. sorry for keeping you waiting." she frowned.
- "not too bad. i got a job! i work as a lifeguard as part time." you gestured. "i can't work late at night, i need to rest. and it's usually for the weekends. they made my schedule pretty special."
- "do they care about... that." she tried not to make it a big deal as he nudged her head over to your tail.
- "hey, they don't know that. and lets keep that between us." you pointed at her. "but anyways, if you ever need saving just call me."
- "like i'd ever get in the water without you." she laughed.
- "speaking of which, i hope you brought your swim suit." you stripped away your own clothes, your scales retracting and your tail fin flopped in the water. "c'mon!"
- "hold on!" she watched you with a baffled gape. she scrambled to her feet, pulling her shirt over her head and leaving her in her sports bra. "you're cheating!" she jumped in the water and you laughed, splashing her with water.
F.F
- thinks you're a little bit of a freak which is so ironic considering her own circumstance.
- i think she's in love with the fact that you both love water so much. you both thrive in it all the time.
- in fact, it's where the both of you are literally 24/7.
- "your friends sound like a lot of fun." you told her as you swam in the water together.
- "you should meet them sometime. oh! i can just bring them down here too." F.F insisted and you laughed quietly at her excitement.
- "that'd be fun. but aren't you worried what they'll think?" you couldn't help but feeling this abiding feeling in your head.
- "nah." she shook her head. "they're not like that. they'd like you." she insisted.
- "well." you trailed off, smiling to yourself. "i like you." she tilted her head.
- this made her cheeks flush, she averted her gaze a bit and cleared her throat. you hardly ever see her look so flustered before. it made you laugh.
- "you're way too cute!" you continued, not resisting to hide your continous giggles as she clicked her tongue.
- "this isn't about me!" she whined and the two of you continued to swim together just to pass the time.
Weather Report
- he's rather indifferent about your appearance when he first met you.
- he's dealt with things much worse. and besides, he loves you for you. fins and all.
- you always felt like you were in some kind of movie anytime he's with you. he made you feel so loved.
- "aren't you cold?" you asked, the wind currents were a lot stronger this time around. you hugged yourself.
- "no." he shook his head. "i'm fine. are you?" he tilted his head a bit.
- "yeah, i'm used to the cold." you smiled back, your tail curling a bit. "something tells me you did this on purpose." you smirked. "making it colder."
- "what makes you say that?" he raised a brow and you pointed up at the clouds. "well, was it working?"
- "not really. but if you wanted to cuddle you shouldve said something, silly." you playfully nudged him before scooting over.
- and he welcomed you with open arms, wrapping it around your shoulder as you huddled for warmth.
- "you don't wanna get in the water?" you looked up at him.
- "no, but if you want to i don't mind. i can keep watch." he shrugged at this. but you shook your head.
- "i like being with you instead." you admitted bashfully and he chuckled in response. his voice quiet as he agreed with you.
Narciso Anasui
- you are so beautiful in his eyes, scales and all. he acts like it doesn't phase him at all.
- anytime he'd stop by to visit you, he always brings a basket of lot of treats and snacks. something that you adapted into liking.
- however, he was slightly late this time. he was the only one who noticed but you weren't keeping track of time when you heard him hustling over at you with the basket.
- "is this all for me?" you looked up at him, stars twinkling in your eyes as you lifted up your favorite snack.
- "of course, my love. you're always on my mind, how can i ever forget?" he stared at you lovingly.
- you only known each other for a few weels and already he got you a promise ring. he wanted to marry you and you were only overwhelmed by how bold he is.
- still, you had accepted his ring and he's made it a mission to come out at night to see you. any chance he gets.
- the moonlight beamed down at the water, small waves wetting the sand as it pulled back into shore. you felt like you were at peace.
- "wow, this is so romantic." you let out a sigh. he couldn't tear his eyes away from you, it felt almost creepy how he was watching your every move. has he even looked away at all?
- "that's not all." he slowly sat up, already scooting closer so that your shoulders were touching. "let me make it up to you. for being a little late." he cupped your cheek.
- "you were? i don't think i noticed." you laughed shyly, pulling away only slightly as he tried to close the distance. "anasui..."
- "shhh.." he placed a finger on your lips. "let's let our lips do the talking."
Enrico Pucci
- what an interesting character that you are.
- he keeps you a secret from everyone else, he likes visiting you late at night by the ocean. it's a lot more quiet and calming.
- and there you were, sitting on the warm beach sand with your mermaid tale already out. the ends flapped gently when you saw him approaching.
- "hi stranger." you gently patted the spot next to you and he gladly accepted. "how are you? you haven't come visited me for a while."
- "i was caught up with a lot of business. i'm surprised you'd still wait for me." he smiled at you warmly.
- "i'm pretty familiar with your schedule. it's how we met, remember? you like coming down here to relax." you sighed. "and i can do my part in helping you let all those worries melt away." your tone hinting at something much more.
- "you don't need to. just talking is already enough. you understand me..." he trailed off, holding a journal of some sort.
- "what's that for? you keep notes?" you pointed it out.
- "something like that." he hummed. "honestly they're mostly just hymn's." he explained, opening the book. "care me to read you a few?"
- "sure," you smiled. "i like hearing you talk anyways. you can tell me anything.
- and he did. he spoke to you in a hushed voice, words were steady and you admired the shadows casting over his face. he was beautiful.
