Art Fight kept me mostly busy the entire month, orz ;;
But now I’m just de-stressing by drawing more of my Persona best girl, Chie~ I couldn’t make it on her actual birthday, but oh well xD
The last pic is from the Fool’s Rune (Persona/Deltarune) AU I had. I’m still interested in doing more stuff for it, but it’s hard when we only really have one chapter as a source, lol
...Specifically, more in-depth(?) concept doodles from the self-indulgent Deltasona/Personarune/Fool’s Rune AU that nobody asked for, lol~
Click pics for captions/context!

More context of this AU can be found below the cut~ ;u;
Obvious as it is, Minato, Ren and “Souji” fill in the roles of Kris, Susie and Ralsei (respectively) in this Persona/Deltarune AU. The reasons why I personally see it fitting them being:
In Deltarune, Kris (while being a silent protag) has some pre-established personality. They love to eat (chocolate, specifically) and it’s been implied they have the tendency to sleep in class. They’re shown to not stand out much (compared to their brother, Asriel) among their peers. It’s possible that they could even appear to be callous, as per Lancer’s line “you act like you don’t care.”
In comparison, Minato seems to stand out the least (school-wise) compared to Ren (who his schoolmates avoid for his “criminal record”) and Yu (who catches attention for being the transfer student from “the big city”). He’s shown to have a humorously large appetite, and constantly dozes off (and you do have the option to sleep in class if you’re tired). Also, a common dialogue option for Minato in various situations is to answer with “I don’t care.”
Both Kris and Minato are barely presented with a choice in-game; either dragged into accepting or would have someone decide for them. This is evident when Susie would force Kris into their project and even a battle regardless of what they would’ve picked, and Minato being recruited into SEES (and even chosen as the leader). Whatever choice they could do would be minor and have little impact on the overall game.
Both are presented with one major option, and while the ending remains the same, it does change how the game carries on. In Deltarune, should Kris decide to and do everything in their power to spare the enemy, while in the end they still leave the Dark World, the difference being that they leave peacefully. In Persona 3, the major decision Minato can make is the option to either kill or spare Ryoji. Regardless of the choice, he will die, but the difference here is that nobody else among his friends does, and the apocalypse is halted.
Susie, much like Ren is regarded as an “outcast” who is feared among the student body. On one occasion, Susie is shown to be appreciative of Lancer’s company, with dialogue implying that she could be misunderstood, as having Lancer around means that someone actually is proud of her and what she does.
This isn’t dissimilar to Ren, whom is constantly misunderstood and is the subject of unfair judgment, and I can see the Phantom Thieves being the one thing where he’s appreciated and looked up to for once.
Ralsei regards friendship and upholds similar values, but above all he is loyal. Not once does he abandon Kris’s side regardless of what the latter chooses to do, and while Susie leaves the group temporarily, Ralsei remains in the team. Ralsei even outright says in the beginning he would go along with whatever Kris chooses, so long as it makes them happy.
This is a nod to how Yu/Souji is created, as he was designed “to be reminiscent of a loyal and sincere dog.”
Also the reason why I chose to have Yu present himself as “Souji” despite me being more partial to the former name is that I felt it’d be a good nod to how in Deltarune, Ralsei’s name is an anagram (and resembles) Kris’s brother, Asriel. :’D
...Whoop, rambled long enough, but hopefully that explains why I see the Persona Fool protags being the way they do ^^;;
Maybe I’ll do more of this or explain the roles of the other/minor characters, who knows(?) xP
The first (top) is based off a concept/idea I had back in 2017 during my Kid Icarus fixation lol where every hundred years or so the gods would hold an assembly to discuss how things have progressed during the past century, based off their domain (e.g. Viridi would discuss which new creatures were created, which ended up extinct, vote for human extinction, etc.)
Every assembly would be hosted by a different god, with the meeting taking place in their domain.
The second one is actually an old doodle I had unfinished since August of last year(?) and eventually colored in, the rest are Personarune/Fool’s Rune doodles of Minato~ :D
Some more concept doodles of my Personarune/Fool’s Rune AU~
A lot of them were leftovers from Day 24 of P3WINFES that didn’t make it :0
I plan to have (some of) the Dark World cast/counterparts on a separate post, so for now, it’s the Hometown peeps~ :D
(Details and descriptions are under the cut)
I’ll be rambling about the characters and how they are in the AU~ Long text warning(?)
Unlike the others shown here, I was actually 100% sure with Yosuke being Burgerpants. It’s amusing since Burgerpants plays a small cameo in Deltarune, but when thinking about his AU counterpart, my mind almost immediately shifted to Yosuke and it stuck from there xD
Much like how Burgerpants back in Deltarune would bring up Asriel, Yosuke would do the same with mentioning his “partner,” Yu
Originally, I thought of Mitsuru and Akihiko for Catti and Jockington’s roles. But thinking over it for a while, I eventually gave those roles to Ann and Ryuji, respectively.
The reason for this was mainly because Catti works after school on a part-time job, which isn’t dissimilar to Ann with taking modelling in-between studies. Mitsuru, being rich, would never really be the type to have a part-time job (and even if it’s in AU purposes, it always seemed...”wrong” to me xP ), and it was especially odd to just have Akihiko keep his role, so he had to be replaced as well.
Unlike Catti (who seems rather stoic towards Kris), Ann is actually a lot more amiable towards Minato; she just wouldn’t have him as a group partner because Ryuji always gets dibs, lol
And yes, Ann also works part-time as a model. In this AU, Minato meets her in the restaurant when she’s on break; she mentions her outfit as part of her work.
Having Yukiko as Alphys was something I really debated on, and there have been times I’ve considered it, other times I’ve just stuck to the original draft. At first it was gonna be Futaba, and her setting in the AU was that she was a prodigy who went to college early, and is currently teaching as field work for her Master’s degree.
Somewhere at the last minute, I completely scrapped the rough draft, and drew Yukiko for the role instead, and I ended up going with that. She’s teaching Minato’s class for the same reasons as Futaba, albeit without the whole prodigy background.
Instead of having Minato fetch the chalk, it was lunch break and Yukiko lost her chopsticks, so she asked him and Ren to get another pair.
When Minato meets her after school, instead of offering an anime collection like with Alphys, Yukiko will instead offer to cook lunch for Minato out of guilt over him skipping lunch to find chopsticks.
Yet another one I debated on, but it didn’t take as long for me to finalize. At first, it was supposed to be Makoto (Niijima), considering in the end of Persona 5, she did end up deciding to become a police officer, but then I realized having Chie as Undyne would fit just as well, plus it was a good parallel to having Yukiko in Alphys’s role.
That, and Chie is pretty much just as aggressive as Undyne could be. Makoto is as well, but oftentimes I find her to be a bit more subtle about it when she’s not fighting Shadows xD
Welp, I guess that’s that~ At least now y’all know who has whose roles on my personal take on a Personarune AU, haha~
Again, I’ll be posting another set of concept doodles...eventually. This time with the Dark World cast :’D
