SAN VERTO SPRING FESTIVAL - it’s april, people are enjoying the first warm days of spring and nature is coming alive, that can only mean one thing: it’s time for the annual san verto spring festival. for one sunday, the town comes together for a day full of fun activities and delicious food to celebrate the start of spring.
the day’s activities include:
- early morning swim in the ocean
- a picnic in the botanical gardens
- a farmers market
- food trucks and an ice cream truck
- cupcake decorating organised by bella’s bakery
- face painting
- pub crawl
- flower arrangement contest
- a chocolate egg hunt throughout the town centre
- an art exhibition by sun valley students
- a talent show organised by valley students, but everyone can participate
- a big clothing swap organised by hand me down
- discounted tattoos at skin deep
- games at the SVC football fields (tug-of-war, relay race, football competition, etc.)
- surfing competition at the beach, the winner gets a giant chocolate egg
- karaoke night hosted at the smiling seagull
- and finally the night will be closed with a bbq at the beach!
though for the people who aren’t done partying just yet, rumor has it something will be going down at the abandoned docks. an after party, if you will. until the cops shut it down of course. and only if you know the code word: buttercup. but shh, can’t have the wrong people finding out about this.
