I MISSED A WHOLE WEEK.
Day 76, March 17 - Have you made any changes to your eating over the past few months? If so, describe them for us. If not, are you happy with how you are eating today? What do you plan on changing or keeping the same?
Actually, I have. I’ve become much more balanced in my eating. I’ve started eating a lot of my old ‘trigger’ foods and I’ve allowed myself to indulge more. I am finding a very happy balance between the foods I eat and I plan to stick with the moderation lifestyle.
Day 77, March 18 - Let’s talk about Dinner. What is a typical dinner for you? (A picture would be nice.) Do you consider this to be a healthy dinner? Do you have any special challenges when it comes to eating a healthy dinner on a consistent basis? What changes would you like to make on your eating plan?
Dinner used to be chicken every night with veggies. Lately we’ve been trying new healthy meatless meals, like bean burritos and broccoli quesadillas. We also enjoy turkey burgers weekly. Dinner always includes protein and lots of vegetables, unless it’s a pizza night then it’s just goodness.
Day 79, March 20 - Are there any foods that serve as triggers for you to eat poorly? How have you managed this? Share any tips for avoiding a binge.
Spaghetti and pastas was one my biggest fear foods. I used to it so much of it, and I loved it, I had some ridiculous emotional bond with it. Now it’s something that I eat in moderation. I pack the meal with lots of vegetables so that I am filling up more on that, rather than the pasta, and just keep to healthy portions. Knowing that it now fits within my new healthy lifestyle is something that helps me manage it.
My no-binge tips would include; portioning out what it is you’re going to eat, and really evaluating if you are hungry. If I really crave something I’ll have a bite, but I ask myself constantly where is that point of ‘full’. Just trying to be aware of your hunger and full points, so you’re not overeating.
Day 80, March 21 - Share any food substation tips you have. How do you meet your cravings without overdoing it?
I’m lucky because I have a husband so I can have a few bites of things and let him finish them! I think frozen yogurt instead of ice cream is a good substitution, but really I don’t aim for substitutes. Smaller portions are key! And drinking LOTS of water.
Day 81, March 22 - Offer some tips for people who are new to eating healthy. What can you suggest to help them be a success?
- focus on whole foods, that aren’t processed. Aim for vegetables and whole grains instead of boxed foods.
- be mindful of how often you eat out, and where you eat out. Try to pick places where you know what is going into your food.
- try to avoid drinking lots of high calorie juices, really, water all the way.
- eat your breakfast. eat your second breakfast. eat your elevenses, luncheon, afternoon tea, dinner, and supper!
I'm hungry at 2:30 in the goshdarned morning but I can't get anything to eat without freaking out the fam because our house is small as hecke hel p
