The original Rollercoaster Tycoon was released at a very specific time such that it had ten currencies: Pounds, Dollars, Francs, Deutschmarks, Yen, Peseta, Lira, Guilders, Krona, and the then-brand-new currency of Euros. The free and open source remake of the second Rollercoaster Tycoon game sort of memed on this strange abundance by adding even more currencies, and the ability to add custom ones, as seen in the above image.

#rct2 #i was going to have a section about how they're all the same value #and that yen just hides the decimal #but then i reread the FAQ and apparently #that wasnt the case in the original game #because the lira was worth so little #that even multiplying prices by 100 wouldn't make them enough lira to look right #so they had to multiply by 1000 #and even then they were half of what they should be according to exchange rates #for 1999 #(1eur = ~2000L apparently???????)

I forgot that there's literally an episode of SG-1 where Bill Clinton makes Jack an ATF agent pro temp. for the purposes of arresting an alien cult. God that's fucking funny.
